Vintage Christmas

Hello! Welcome to a new post for Classy Cards 'n Such challenge: Christmas Die Cuts. I absolutely love to work with dies, and Christmas dies in particular are often so pretty and dainty. That means this challenge was so much fun to me!

I went ahead and made my Christmas card in vintage style. To make it, first I die cut all the decorative elements with PoppyStamps dies, starting with a Mini Madison Window I cut from light brown cardstock. Then I die cut four Small Blooming Poinsettias from red cardstock. I made two poinsettias, each of them layered twice, to make them look fuller. I also die cut a Pine Garland from pearlized and embossed olive green paper.

I made a small tag with the help of A2 Matting Basics A (third die). I dry embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder. I used a technique called Colored Dry Embossing. I basically used a blender marker from Spectrum Noir to lift and apply Chromium Oxide Green from PanPastels Flower Coloring Kit-Landscape starter set. I love PanPastels, and I love this technique, it's easy and it gives a nice touch to your dry embossing. I also added a bit of Inka Gold in Yellow Gold, very roughly, to the dry embossing. I punched a hole to the tag and decorated it with a little hole protector I cut with an Avery Elle die and a paper chord bow.

I added the die cut elements to the tag, but first I embellished the bottom of the tag with a piece of red ribbon and a mini bow. Before adding the Mini Madison Window I adhered the image of a little girl as it's background. I decorated the window with the Small Blooming Poinsettias and the Pine Garland. The poinsettias and the garland were also roughly painted with Inka Gold in Yellow Gold. Finally I embellished the poinsettias with Baby Pearls - LeCreme.

I used A2 Matting Basics A to create my card base. I layered the front of the card with Spellbinders Diamond Effects' largest frame. I added a piece of gold ribbon vertically to this layer. Next, I mounted the embellished tag on a coordinating smaller frame and added it to the center of the card.

I hope you like my vintage Christmas card, and that I have inspired you to join our challenge this week! Autumn Butterfly - House of Cards

Welcome to my post for this month's challenge at House of Cards: Autumn Photo/Color Inspiration. Though there are no defined seasons where I live, I do enjoy seeing, through pictures, all the beautiful earthy tones that Fall brings. Of course, these tones are consequence of every tree giving in to colder temperatures, leaves drying and falling, and in general, nature dying so it can be renewed once again during Spring. I have seen families and friends going through their own Autumn recently (some of them are still struggling), and all I can do is pray that God's grace surrounds them and that He fulfills all their present needs. Hopefully, just as in nature, these trying times will be temporary for them.

My card for today is possibly Vintage, but the polka dots make it look a bit Shabby Chic too... I suppose I mixed a bit of both styles together! One thing is sure, I love how the design resulted.

To make my card I started out by stamping Butterfly from Our Daily Bread Designs on White Pearl Linen, using Memento ink in Rich Cocoa. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers in GB8, OR1, GB5, CT4 (from darkest to lightest). Once done, I covered the butterfly with Dreamweaver Translucent Embossing Paste, to give it a nice glossy look. I love how vintage and pretty the butterfly looks, and of course it looks so much better in 'real life'.

I layered some dies I cut with Spellbinders Fantastic Flourish Three, Spellbinders Gold Circles One, and Spellbinders Elegant Ovals. The polka dot paper used for the background is from Fancy Pants Designs and the vintage handwriting paper on the center is from my recently released paper pack Floral Frames.

To finish my design I added a piece of light brown gross grain ribbon and two Baby Pearls - LeCreme.

I hope you like my card... I really like how it resulted. There is more inspiration for you back at the blog, so I invite you to check out what the rest of the Vintage/Shabby Chic Team designed.

To play along our challenge all you need to do is click here, and upload your creation. Remember any style is welcome!

Rose Culture

Hello! Today I want to share with you a project I made with Ewe-n-Me Printables! This time, I made a vintage card, using their Collage Sheet - Roses. These images are beautiful, and they print so bright and pretty... Love them!

I used an unusual color combination to make this card and I love how it resulted. It really looks vintage and lovely. I couldn't resist adding a gold vintage button to the blue bow to finish my design.

I printed the digital image on white linen cardstock. The die cuts I used framed the image very nicely. I used light brown leather textured cardstock and light blue metallic cardstock for the frames. The yellow cardstock used for the card base is lightly textured and it's called Hawaii where I live.

I altered the largest frame to make it shorter. I basically cut it in half and adhered it again trying to get the right height for the front of the card. I ran across the middle of the frame a piece of blue satin ribbon and embellished it with a bow. This trick helped cover the die cut alteration.

I hope you liked my card. The collage sheet has so many pretty images, you could very easily make a complete set of cards.

Three Roses

Welcome to a new post for Classy Cards 'n Such weekly challenge: Cozy Plaids. It is with great joy, and a thankful heart that I write in this occasion, since today's card represents a bunch of different good things in my life: Family, true friends, unconditional support and love.

To make my card I started by die cutting my card base with A2 Matting Basics A from off white cardstock. Then I printed a plaid digital paper, and a digital floral tag I designed, on White Pearl Linen. I die cut a matting frame and four corners with A2 Filigree Delight and a label with Fancy Label Tags One, both from the plaid patterned sheet. I die cut the floral tag with Elegant Ovals. I also used Elegant Ovals to cut a larger oval from beige cardstock.

I layered the four corners right on top of the frame's corners to create a subtle tridimensional effect, subtle because both were cut from the same paper. I added a piece of pink ribbon vertically right on the center. Then I mounted the large oval, followed by the small oval which was decorated on its top and bottom ends with the patterned tag label. The tag label was actually cut in half, and I adhered the pieces to the back of the small oval, showing only the filigree ends.

To finish my card I stamped the word "family" from Prima's Lady Bird Collection stamp set with Brilliance ink and die cut the sentiment with the smallest die from Fancy Label Tags One. And finally I embellished the die cuts with Baby Pearls - LeCreme.

I want to dedicate this card to two very special ladies, Beverly and Debbie. They are represented in this card by the two red roses, which are somehow sustaining a smaller pink rose, which I find represents me very well in this case. I want to thank these two ladies for their support and love, and for being there for me, like family.

I hope you find time to play along our challenge this week. To check out the supplies used to make this card, click on the links listed or click here to be directed to the Classy Cards 'n Such store. WINNER + New Giveaway!

Hello everyone! It's about time I announce the winner of my last giveaway. Lots of things have happened recently and I really couldn't find a moment to post the winner. Some of those things were really good and some not so much. To share a few, I had the opportunity to meet in person with a friend I got to know through my blog, a fan of my handmade cards, that came all the way from Belgium to visit her family. We had to meet, and I'm so glad we did. What a nice time we had! On the other hand a friend's father passed away later that evening... His loss is even more significant to me because his dad passed away just the way my father did. I hope and pray the Lord blesses this family and gives them strenght and overwhelming peace to carry on. But as you can tell, my heart feels heavy too.

I can still say I feel blessed, in the midst of it all... I am really happy to have the chance to share with you my projects and digital creations. Add a Little Dazzle and Stampendous - Blog Hop Day #4

Welcome to Day 4 of the amazing partnership blog hop between Add a Little Dazzle and Stampendous. Chance to win prizes and lots of projects to be inspired by, what else can one ask for? I am having fun sharing with you the projects I created using Stampendous Snowflake Die Set – DCS5069, Cling Delicate Snow – CRS5069. And for today's project I'm combining these sets with Add a Little Dazzle's Wondrous White metal sheet, and Golden Glimmer metal sheet.

My project for today is a place setting in white and gold, perfect to decorate your Christmas table.

The place setting consists of a cutlery holder and a place card. The cutlery holder is made of white cardstock and has an open pocket to place a napkin and a cutlery set for one. I dry embossed the pocket and decorated it with two heat embossed snowflakes. The large gold snowflake was heat embossed in white and the medium white snowflake was heat embossed in gold. Both were die cut afterwards using the matching die set.

The place card is made using a partial die cutting technique with the help of Snowflake Die Set – DCS5069 I basically placed the large snowflake die on the edge of a 5"x 4 1/2" piece of cardstock and ran it through a die cutting machine making sure I only cut half the snowflake on the front. Then I ran it again through the die cutting machine on the other side making sure I only cut a fourth of the snowflake on the back. Right where the fourth part of the snowflake cut ends I scored and folded. I decorated the place card the same way I did with the cuttery holder.

I hope you liked my project, that you find it inspiring, and that you find it interesting to try out. I have one more project for you tomorrow, and it's a complementary project to these two I just showed you, so don't forget to stop by!

Add a Little Dazzle and Stampendous - Blog Hop Day #3

This is week there is lots of excitement at Add a Little Dazzle since we've partnered with Stampendous and all week long you will have the opportunity to see amazing projects created by both design teams, using Stampendous stamps and dies and Add a Little Dazzle craft metal.

As every Wednesday today we also have our Dazzling Diva Challenge: Home for the Holidays! My card for today features Baby Blue Metal Sheet, Snowflake Die Set – DCS5069, Cling Delicate Snow – CRS5069.

To make my card first I stamped and heat embossed this elegant and gorgeous snowflake various times to create a background on the craft metal piece. I used pearlescent powder to give it a subtle sparkle. Next I used the silver backing of the metal sheet to heat emboss three snowflakes in white. I die cut them with their coordinating die.

I added a piece of gross grain ribbon in white to create contrast and created a snowflake cluster. I used vynil stickers to decorate my snowflakes and some turquoise pearls for the background.

I enjoyed using this amazing snowflake set from Stampendous to create this CAS card. This will be a great card for anyone in the family when Christmas arrives.

I hope you find time to play along our challenge this week, for a chance to win a $15 voucher to the store!
