Minimalist Floral: Part III

Hello! This is the last card from this mini series of CAS cards. Once I did the first one, I knew I wanted to try a few more alternative designs based on the same minimal style. I sure enjoyed creating them. Today's design is the result of mixing techniques from both previous cards. The image was heat embossed in white. The card was distressed in various tones of pink, but only over the stamped image, creating a contour and blending it towards the center of the card. You can see that I didn't distress the lower right corner, because I wanted to create and unfinished frame. The card base this time is sand, instead of white. So you may find that it has less contrast, but it still ended up nicely balanced. Minimalist Floral: Part II

Hi again! I am so inspired with this style of card making that today and tomorrow I'll be showing you two more alternative ways that you can use a floral stamp to create a background. I wanted to go blue for today's card, to give it a twist. Check it out: Materials Flourishes - Cherry Blossoms Ranger - Embossing Ink, Distress ink in Broken China, blending tool Inkadinkado embossing powder in Clear ZAP! heat tool Memento dye ink in Danube Blue Merletto crystal stickers Imagine Crafts sponge dauber Other generic materials White textured cardstock I blended the inks so that I could get at least 3 tones of blue. I think it's an unexpected color for a floral card, but I like it a lot. Emboss resist will always be a great technique to work with, timeless really. The sentiment stamped on this card signifies something important to keep in mind. You know, life is a big ball of mud you need to know how to roll without getting dirty... The highs and the lows..

Minimalist Floral

Hello my friends, this is a post that I am enjoying already. Minimal & Floral... It doesn't get better than that! It sounds as good as chocolate to me! Flowers being so luscious and one of my favorite things in this planet and on the other hand a clean & simple style... A match made in heaven!  The card for today was created for two of my favorite challenges: Flourishes and The Card Concept. I was immediately inspired with both challenges, and I adore the fact that I can merge them to showcase this CAS floral card. It seems like this is Flourishes' last Timeless Tuesday Challenge. If it's so, it breaks my heart in tiny pieces. I started my blog a bit ago and was enjoying this challenge so much. I am a fan of Flourishes' stamps and will continue to create cards with them anyways. Nevertheless, I want to sincerely thank the company and it's Design Team for their support, kind comments, inspiration and so many things that will certainly be missed. On a br

If Friendships were Flowers...

Hello there! After what was a very difficult weekend due to health issues, first my son and then myself, I am grateful to be able to post a new card for you. I thought I'd never get to finish this card, because I am running out of die cut remainders... I am in desperate need of my Grand Calibur's handle and it hasn't arrived yet. Still, creativity finds it's way and I am able to create some projects. Oh, but if I had my die cutting resources... What a different story that would be! This card I created for Latina Crafter and Flourishes, I merged both challenges. And I went for a shabby look: Materials Spellbinders:  - Gold Labels Six - Grand Calibur die cutting machine Prima Marketing: - Polka Dot mini background stamp - Lady Bird cling stamp set Darcie's stamp: Cup of Tea My Pink Stamper: Spanish Sayings Memento dye ink in: Angel Pink, Rich Cocoa Brilliance pigment ink in Pearlescent Beige Ranger Distress ink in Spun S

Valentine's Giveaway WINNER!

Hello hello!!! As promised I'm here to announce the winner of a Shery K. Designs digital paper pack. I arrived not long ago from the hospital, my baby got seriously ill and we spent the last 24 hours there. Bless the Lord he got well considerably fast from what was a stomach infection. The nurses catheterized his itty bitty hand which traumatized me at first... So hard to watch! But then he dealt with it greatly and didn't complain at all, rested well and got better. I am taking care of him, but as proof of his recovery this brave little boy helped me pick the winner! Each participant's name was written on a piece of paper and he chose one! And with no further ado, the lucky winner is: PaperCrafting WithAngelina dijo... Love this book. Thank you for sharing how you put it together. I am now following you on Pinterest, Facebook and via email. Thanks for the opportunity to win this beautiful paper pack. CONGRATULATIONS! My dear Angelina, please send me your

Today I was picked a Winner on the Card Concept Blog by one of the designers: Ardith. THANK YOU Ardith! I really needed this motivation today. Pink & Turquoise

It is great to be back after what for me was a long and tired weekend. I found some fabulous President's Day sales at Joann's and discovered a wonderful Spellbinders retailer store: Scrap-mart. A good bargain is something that will keep me awake! I did some aggressive shopping! LOL. I am looking forward to show you new projects with what I got, but that will take some time so let's talk about today's card instead! This is another of my beginner cards, not so beginner really... Let's just say it's one of the cards I created after taking a long break after my father's passing and after finishing all the legal work that it involved and that I had to take care of. I basically took a year off. And after I finished doing these cards in the end of 2102, I stopped again. It was until December 2013 that I decided I really wanted to commit to card making, for it is one thing that makes me absolutely happy. And here I am! So after explaining how that time of my li

Butterfly Gate Card

Hello! How was your Valentine's? I hope you enjoyed it a lot! We ordered in and had a family night. That's exactly how I wanted it to be. Now for today, I have a new card made with every little remainder piece of die cut I could find. I do hope my machine's handle arrives as soon as possible!  So this is a gate card, with an embossed front and with many layers. Would that make it 'clean & layered'? Valentine's Mini Paperpad and a GIVEAWAY

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to all of you that so dearly visit me everyday! As promised I have a sweet and cute little project that will make someone´s day today (my sister´s boyfriend)... It´s a mini Valentine´s notepad. This is the project I was working on when my Grand Calibur´s handle broke... Aham, this is the one! The request was to make a pad with the exact number of pages that this couple has been together in days. I could only get to cut 29 pages, they had to be many more, but even so I finished the project. Here it is: Every page in the pad is embellished. It is supposed to be bulky, but the way I glued the pages together helped to keep it stable. I bind the pages with a method I've seen in Office Depot (referring to the one in my country). They press firmly the pages together, and they apply a special hot glue on the edge of the bulk of paper at the same time that they place a strip of paper (long as the pages are and wide enough to wr
