Vintage Blessing - ODBD Sketch

It's time for a sketch challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs . Today's sketch was so much fun to play with and it also made my design look elegant! As promised last week I'll be sharing male card ideas throughout the month. My card for today would work well for any occasion and even for a lady, since it incorporates all sorts of elements. I used 3 different patterned papers from the new ODBD vintage collection and cut two banners included in the same paper pack to add them as elements to my card. I picked black as my accent color and followed the sketch vertically. I really like the new stamp set and I think it matches the design perfectly! To see all the projects created for ODBDSLC242 or to join the challenge click here . You have until June 14, 2015 at 8:00pm EDT to join us. By participating in the challenge, you have a chance to win a $15 ODBD Gift Certificate good towards the purchase of stamps in the “stamps column” on the ODBD website, or to be spotlight...

From my Garden - ODBD Sketch Challenge

Were you able to join us last week at our Shining the Light challenge? This week our challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs is a sketch! When I saw the sketch I think I knew right away that I wanted to make a window card. I decided to make a garden themed card too, with a bit of floral pattern and garden die cuts! You may have noticed by now how much I love to use the largest frame from Flourished Star Pattern dies. I just like the stitched border this die has and how it matches many other dies from ODBD like the Gilded Gate I used this time too! I die cut a window on the white mat using Vintage Flourish Pattern and then I embossed it with a polka dot folder. I thought some polka dot embossing would look great with this card's design, especially because of the shabby chic look it has. I stamped a sentimend from The Gate set, and I die cut a smaller coordinating label, that way I could make the window stand out with patterned paper. I stenciled the label with pink ink, bec...

For YOU with love

Happy Monday! I have the privilege to share a card I made just for fun today, and I say privilege because I don't always have the time to make an extra card. I have been experimenting with different materials to create organic looking embellishments. My last card featured a DIY rosette embellishment made of a very common every day material. I will have a tutorial on that this week, so stay tuned and join me on Friday for all the details on that project made for Ann Butler Designs! Then tomorrow you'll see a mixed media card I created for this week's challenge at ODBD, featuring a product found at the hardware store that I used to add texture to the card. There will be another complete tutorial on that project also! But today, I bring you a card featuring one of my deepest paper crafting obsessions... Handmade flowers! I experimented with crepe paper ! Yes, that's right, the one used for party decorations. I had this idea of using crepe paper to try a new look for my i...

Delicate Birthday Butterflies - House of Cards

It's been just a few days since my last post for House of Cards Challenge . Things have changed a bit for the better! Now all of us, the designers from all the different style teams, are going to share our projects for the challenge every 1st of the month on our blogs. We are also going to be adding our creations to the challenge inlinkz so you can hop along, visit each blog, and hopefully be inspired! Our challenge this month is a sketch! Remember you can rotate the sketch and use it as you wish, only let us know your interpretation on your blog post or online gallery. My card follows the sketch almost literally, except for the sentiment label, which I interpreted as a banner.   I decided to make a shabby chic card in soft tones of lilac and blue. I used some pretty filigree dies starting with the frame, which I cut with ODBD Vintage Flourish die. I layered two elegant oval die cuts too. I wanted to add some shimmer to the card so I used metallic cardstocks f...
