Tea & Blessings

Welcome to our Scripture challenge with ODBD stamps . Our Daily Bread Designs has been hosting many inspiring challenges and I have enjoyed creating for them a lot! This week you can use any Scripture / verse stamp from ODBD on your project for the challenge. I created a nice little box, a tea box. It's the kind to give away as a gift. I made this one from scratch but you can certainly use the actual box your tea comes in and cover it. I used different papers from the Shabby Rose Paper Collection to give the box a delicate look. I stamped a verse from ODBD's Bless your Heart on a pretty label cut with the new Layered Lacey Squares dies and added it together with pink ribbon and linen thread to finish my project. Showers of Blessings - ODBD Inspiration Challenge

This week Our Daily Bread Designs is hosting an Inspiration Challenge! The inspiration photo goes along so well with the new release. I created this card using the new Umbrella die upside down holding little handmade flowers. I thought the umbrella would look perfect in front of the Window die, to which I added a beautiful piece of patterned paper from the Blushing Rose Collection. The sentiment is from one of the new stamp sets released and I think this verse not only goes well with the theme of this week's challenge and my design, but also is such a beautiful promise, a very encouraging and inspiring verse! As always I hope you enjoyed seeing my card for today! To see all the projects created for ODBDSLC235 or to join the challenge click here . You have until April 26, 2015 at 8:00pm EDT to join us. By participating in the challenge, you have a chance to win a $15 ODBD Gift Certificate good towards the purchase of stamps in the “stamps column” on the ODBD website ,

For the Glory of God - ODBD Sketch Challenge

Welcome to a new challenge post for Our Daily Bread Designs ! This week we have a sketch for you. I brainstormed quite a bit to try to translate the sketch to my design seamlessly, so to speak. I knew I wanted to try out the new Lacey Layered Squares Dies to create a shabby chic frame and that's exactly how today's design started out. I used metallic cardstock for the frame, and I decided to create a delicate bouquet inspired in the soft silver tone of the frame. Once again I was drawn to use the beautiful Shabby Rose Collection papers that happened to go along so well with the design! I made a different style of flowers with the Aster Dies for my shabby column and I embellished them with die cut leaves and flourishes as well as with some other elements. For the horizontal column I used a vellum banner that I heat embossed with a verse from the set Glory . The lonely element on the top of the sketch was the perfect excuse to use this beautiful silver heart charm.

A Shabby Chic Spring Card - House of Cards

Today I'm sharing a shabby chic card I created for House of Cards . This month's challenge is to use butterflies and/or colors from the inspiration photo. I went for the butterfly theme only, without knowing where to start and after a few handmade flowers and stamped butterflies I hit it off. I am so happy with how the design turned out! The butterflies were stamped with my set Parisian Postcard released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, fussy cut and added to the card around the sentiment's label and handmade flowers. Since I used blue for the flowers, and followed by brown for the butterflies and sentiment, I decided that my patterned paper from the recently released Floral Frames Paper Pack (available on Etsy here ) would go together perfectly. I accentuated the color scheme with a light green. I used a few die cuts to add even more texture, layering and depth to the design, after all it is a shabby chic card! I stenciled the patterned paper with crackle embossi

Know that God will - ODBD Color Inspiration

unHello and welcome to a new month of wonderful new releases and challenges at Our Daily Bread Designs . Our first challenge of the month is a Color Inspiration challenge . This week's palette is so pretty! I decided to use lilac, teal and soft blue for the challenge combining metallic cardstocks and a delicate polka dot pattern from the Christmas Paper Collection 2014 for my 5" by 5" card. I am excited about the new die sets released this month and today I'm sharing a card I made using the new Layered Lacey Squares Dies . This time I altered the largest square to create a nice frame around the center of the card. I die cut two large squares from lilac cardstock and cut them in a little over a half. I adhered both pieces in diagonal orientation but very close to each other on the center, almost as if creating a larger square with the die cut pieces. Before adding a blue lacey square on the center I added two pieces of ribbon diagonally. Now, the blue sq

Beautiful Stamps + Dies

Cardmaking has become more elegant and interesting thanks to the new supplies and machines being created from a few years back until now. I'm sure more and more new and improved supplies will continue to be released, but I still remember that one time when I made a heart shaped card for Valentine's when I was in Preschool. Or that other time when I made a small card with a Little Mermaid's sticker to send it to my oldest cousin in Brazil when I was 10. Cardmaking should be inspirational in any case and that is why I enjoy meaningful and versatile products that I can use over and over to share my creativity with others. This is the case with the beautiful stamps and dies from Our Daily Bread Designs that I used for today's card. ODBD just released a couple of the products being featured today: Amazing Grace background stamp and Layered Lacey Square Dies . Love these! I used dye ink to stamp the background and the sentiment on subtle patterned papers. This is a g
