I've always loved seeing die cuts covered in snowy textures, so I came up with an easy way to add snow to some pretty Holiday Winterberries. My Christmas cards never seem to have a traditional color combination and today's card is no exception. I had to cut 4 different pieces to put together the final frame on this card... At one point I thought it was not going to work out, but most of the times I don't give up on a project, I just make slight changes and suddenly the design starts to make sense. In this case the beautiful Burlap and Bouquets paper by Fancy Pants Designs made a big difference!  I played with die cuts quite a bit for this card... The striped layer was cut with a Distressed Benson Corner die on opposite corners and that created a beautiful effect, letting the patterned paper show through. I have a confession to make... This year I've been drawn to make white and gold Christmas cards. I can't even think of traditional Christmas colors when I want to make a project! So today's poinsettia card and tutorial translate very well what Christmas is gonna be like this December at home. White and gold look so elegant together! Since the holidays are all about sparkle too, I used one of my favorite glitter techniques and I'm sharing a quick and easy tutorial with you HERE . I created the background myself, layering snowflake stamps in different designs, first in a very light beige, then in gold embossing. Afterwards, I dry embossed the stamped mat with a sutile polka dot design and used a brayer to apply light beige paint to the raised pattern. Not long ago I came up with a fun idea that incorporates a gift card holder to the front of a card. I thought I would share with you a detailed tutorial on how I make this 2 in 1 card and gift card holder, using beautiful Fall neutral colors and a washed Shabby Chic look.  To view my tutorial click  HERE .  Fall inspired cards are always so pretty and even warm neutral colors look great together against a washed looking white background. Texture is everything when it comes to Fall projects, so I decided to dry emboss the white layer, add really textured handmade paper flowers and finish the card with jute twine! The touch of distress on the embossed background and flowers give the card a sutile mixed media look! Today the world celebrates us... It's World Cardmaking Day! I am almost sure it's only us, who are part of the papercrafting community, that know about it anyways (lol), but what an opportunity we have  today to share our passion for this hobby through a card with the rest of the world. Let's not forget why we make cards for.
