Elegant & Detailed
graduation card

I was commissioned a graduation card for a Medicine School male graduate, and I decided to share it with you. I've always thought this kind of occasions merit elegant and timeless designs that the graduate can save as a beautiful memento. Since this is for a male recipient I decided to use opaque silver and gray for a monochromatic combination. I used this great sentiment which is a perfect fit for the occasion and heat embossed it in silver. The stunning die cuts add so much to the design, especially the intricate pierced elements added diagonally on the background. I decided to finish the card with grosgrain ribbon made into a simple loop and also with a few rhinestones. Hope this gives you ideas for future graduation cards you may need to make! Male cards are not always easy to make but this fits the bill nicely without sparing on the elegant feel we cardmakers enjoy to see in our projects. Before I go let me remind you of this month's challenge at House of Car

Christmas in August?
house of cards challenge: metallics

Welcome to a new month of creative inspiration! This month our challenge at House of Cards is Metallics. Feel free to translate our cue word to your papercrafting project however you like! I used gold metallic cardstock to create a white Christmas card with some vintage like paper poinsettias. I am late to the Christmas in July movement, so I'm sharing my first Christmas card today instead! I used a technique from my tutorials (found here ) to make my flowers. The technique added texture and a very dramatic look to the poinsettias. I also played with the delicate die cuts in gold to create a nice medallion. I have to admit that I love adding polka dot embossing to my cards, so I am happy with the final look of the card.  I hope you feel inspired to join our challenge this month! I am glad you stopped by today! Until next time! Shared also with:  Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge No Ordinary Paper / Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes / Simon S
