Creating Backgrounds with Digital Stamps
- Botanical Friendship Card -

Digital stamps can be used in so many ways! Today I used an image from my new stamp set Hope to create a lace motif background for my card front and even a coordinating layer for the inside of the card.

Main Supplies:
Stamps - Hope digital stamp set, Love digital stamp set by Graciellie Design
Dies - Spellbinders: A2 Matting Basics A, Victoria Accents, Butterflies 2 / Cheery Lynn Designs: English Tea Party Doily / Poppystamps: Holiday Winterberries / Memory Box: Botanical Stem / Heartfelt Creations: Botanical Wings
Frantage Embossing Enamel in Shabby Pink
Miscelaneous - Inkjet printer / Fused Pearl beads / Pearl stamens / Leather textured cardstock in white, cream, light brown / Embossed paper in green / Air dry clay heart / Pearl stickers / Gold button / Ink applicator / Brown inks / Acrylic paint / Brush

Update: You can edit this background using the online program PicMonkey ("add your own overlay"). You can also recolor and resize the background's format on Microsoft Word.

The classic background that resulted from duplicating the lace motif and editing it's color guided me towards a vintage / shabby chic design in green, brown and touches of pink. I created a cluster with flowers, butterflies and many different die cuts and embellishments to add dimension to the design. The printed verse stamp from the set Love -cut into a banner- finished the card so nicely, making it a perfect card for a friend not only on Valentine's but on any occasion.

That pretty heart embellishment was actually created from air dry clay that I cut with a heart shaped cookie cutter, then textured with a pattern stamp and finally heat embossed using some Frantage Embossing Enamel. Like I said in my last post there is virtually no limits when it comes to creating your own embellishments. We are so excited to announce our new rubber stamp collection with Unity Stamp Company is out! We've been working behind the scenes to create a complete Fall/Winter stamp selection inspired on our digital shop with the purpose of giving traditional stampers the chance to try out our designs. There are 8 new stamp sets available now at Unity Stamp Co. and we are celebrating the ocassion with an amazing blog hop and of course we have lots of prizes for our readers!
Before we go into today's giveaways details, I would love to share the first card I made with my new rubber stamp sets! This is one of my favorite flowers in the collection and I had to play with it right away! This set is called Amazing Things and it includes beautiful inspirational sentiments.

I stamped the flowers in black, using Umbrella Crafts Premium Dye Ink and colored the image with Spectrum Noir Makers Purples and Reds. I fussy cut the images using Westcott's Titanium Bonded Microtip Precision Scissors (…

Dreaming of a White Christmas
gilded & elegant christmas card

I have a confession to make... This year I've been drawn to make white and gold Christmas cards. I can't even think of traditional Christmas colors when I want to make a project! So today's poinsettia card and tutorial translate very well what Christmas is gonna be like this December at home.

White and gold look so elegant together! Since the holidays are all about sparkle too, I used one of my favorite glitter techniques and I'm sharing a quick and easy tutorial with youHERE.

I created the background myself, layering snowflake stamps in different designs, first in a very light beige, then in gold embossing. Afterwards, I dry embossed the stamped mat with a sutile polka dot design and used a brayer to apply light beige paint to the raised pattern.

As for the very layered and beautiful center of the card, I started out with an intricate die cut (see tutorial HERE) and continued building layers, with large snowflake die cuts and finally with a large handmade poinsettia …

Bible Journaling with Pan Pastel, Deco Foil, TCW and Unity Stamp Co.

I promised I would be back with a new art journaling inspiration project today... This might as well become a habit! This time I have a page from Psalm 31 that I handdrawn and colored with PanPastel. The softness of the PanPastel goes so well with the bible pages and it so easy to blend and color with.
I knew I wanted a bold floral image on this page. I love floral illustrations and I had to try out this Magnolia here. I handdrawn the flower in pencil first inspired by a photograph online. This time I did not feel the need to prep my page because I was not going to be using any wet media on it. Then I started shading my flower starting with a 430.5 Magenta, adding highlights with 380.8 Red Oxide Tint and 100.5 Titanium White (trying not to touch the rest of the image and only blending it on the lightest spots of the flower). I also added 470.8 Violet Tint to create a little bit of shadows but since my coloring is usually whimsical it is ok if the tones shadows and highlights are so r…
