Hello there! Are you ready for a new Cardabilities sketch? I enjoyed working with sketch #102 very much, I think it is a very elegant one.
Materials
Spellbinders: Gold Circles One, Rose Creations, Bitty Blossoms, Timeless Rectangles, Venetian embossing folder, Grand Calibur die cutting machine.
Stampendous - Spanish Greetings, Spanish Invite
Inks: Ranger - Distress inks in Spun Sugar, Peeled Paint, Worn Lipstick. Embossing Ink. Memento ink - Lulu Lavender. Brilliance ink - Pearlescent Beige
Inkadinkado embossing powder in silver
Zap heat tool
Adhesives: UHU all purpose adhesive, Bazic two sided tape and foam tape, Elmer's glue all.
Merletto paper cord in lilac
Other generic materials
5/8" gross grain ribbon in lilac
Cardstock: Metallic in lilac and soft pink, Linen in white, Leather textured in white, pink and peach, Eggshell in white.
Fused string pearl beads in ivory
Pearl stamens in pink
This birthday card was made to look like an album. It has an inside pocket to add gift cards or any other goodies. I worked a lot with metallic papers and dry embossing. TIP: I sprayed the metallic cardstock with body spray (that's right!), the alcohol in it helps to wear out the shimmer and the paper embosses better too. The flowers were handmade using different techniques to give them a very organic look.
A lot of distress inks were used, but in a subtle way. The spanish sentiments ('May God Bless You' and 'Happy Birthday') where heat embossed in silver. And the final touches included pearl stamens, fused string pearls and ribbon.
I hope you like my card and that you find this sketch fun to work with. Please join us at Cardabilities for a chance to win a featured designer spot during the next reveal.
