Egg-stra Special Card

Today I'm sharing an egg-stra special card created for Our Daily Bread Designs. I'm excited about the fun and lovely new release. I love the new Easter stamps, dies and papers... They're just perfect. This week our challenge at ODBD is a Sketch, and I decided to make an interactive card!

It seems like an ordinary card until you open it... It's a sweet Easter pop-up card, created with stamps and a die from the new release. First thing I did is cut and score the inside flap for the basket on the white card base. Once done I worked on the card design based on the sketch.

I decorated the front of the card with lace, ribbon and lots of dies including the new Grass Border die. The new coordinating papers add so much loveliness to the card. I layered the large doily with a smaller doily like label that is actually from a Christmas die set. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on vellum, die cut with a small circle die and adhered on top of the small label. I finished the front of the card with a small bow and a gold vintage button.

I stamped the basket and colored it with soft hues of brown. I stamped some eggs on patterned paper and fussy cut and adhere them to the basket. I also added a second sentiment that I stamped and heat embossed in gold on top of the basket.

I hope you enjoyed today's post and feel inspired to join us this week at ODBD. To see all the projects created for ODBDSLC230 or to join the challenge click here. You have until March 15, 2015 at 8:00pm EDT to join us. The random prize winner will be posted on our next challenge post.

Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card. Really with card designing the hard part is figuring out what you want your card to look like in the end but once you have figured out what elements you'll be adding and where you will be placing them the card comes together pretty fast.
