Flowers and Words of Encouragement
celebrating world cardmaking day

Today the world celebrates us... It's World Cardmaking Day! I am almost sure it's only us, who are part of the papercrafting community, that know about it anyways (lol), but what an opportunity we have  today to share our passion for this hobby through a card with the rest of the world. Let's not forget why we make cards for. Doesn't matter the reason, I'm sure we all started creating with our hands to make someone happy, to feel happy ourselves, to do something positive with our lives and to encourage others. That's the heart of this craft.

So here is a Shabby Chic card I've been working on, using one of my new stamp sets by Unity: Endure (click here fore details).

I framed this encouraging sentiment with different kinds of handmade flowers that were colored by blending pink and yellow ink sprays, and then smudged with beige paint to give them a chalky look. Silver is the tone I chose to accent the shabby chic design delicately since it doesn't compete with the elements on the card, such as the patterned paper doilies on the background. The metallic leaves were roughly smudged too with white paint for added "shabby chic-ness".The wood texture sure adds a nice detail together with the rhinestones and crinkle ribbon.

I hope you find time to make a card today and share the joy of cardmaking with others around the globe. Thank you so much for stopping by. Know that your comments always inspire and encourage me, and I appreciate it so much! Happy Cardmaking Day!

Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card.
