Mixed Media Card with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

If you follow me on social media you know that lately I have been playing with some mixed media and making fun backgrounds. Today I am sharing card for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps using one of those backgrounds I came up with. This fun and colorful background started out as a way to try out some Mixed Media Sheets and I instantly became addicted to the sheets and got all my mixed media supplies out. I really wanted to use this background for a card so I decided to stamp and color these flowers from my stamp set for SNSS Floral Greetings . I watercolored them with Zig markers and wasn't careful about it because I wanted the coloring to match the playful background. I decided to add stamped words here and there to the background using new stamps from the set  Words of Life: Actions  using Mix'd Media Inx. A torned piece of fuscia cardstock brings together all the elements just as a piece of ribbon would. To finish the card I stamped and heat embossed in clear a sentiment f...

New Pre-Release Handlettered Stamps - Coloring with Ink Sprays

As May approaches Graciellie Design gets ready for a brand new release but May is going to be an extra fun month because it is my birthday! To celebrate I put together a very special stamp set that includes a bonet girl (that I absolutely love) and handlettered sentiments! For the first time I digitalized my handlettering and decided to create this set and share it as a pre-release! So yes, Pray is now available on the shop! The set includes 2 versions of the bonet girl, the one you see in the cover and a second one that allows you to color her dress, do paper piercing and more! For my card today I decided to foil this sweet girl and color her wish splashes of ink spray. The images foil beautifully, and gives the card a store-bought look. Today is the beginning of our May pre-release so starting tomorrow the designers will all be sharing their take on this new sweet set. Make sure to join us, as we share on our blogs and social media throughout the week. If you l...

Stained Flowers DIY Patterned Paper with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Floral specialty papers can be beautiful, especially when they have a metallic finish. I decided to go ahead and try to make my own using  Floral Greetings  and  Peaceful Peonies  from  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps   and  Laser Silver Lustre paper. I stamped the flower multiple times to create a pattern. I used Color Box Mix'd Media Inx in Truffe and heat embossed it with Bridal Tinsel embossing powder from Ranger. I then colored the flowers applying a bit of Zig markers and spreading the color using my fingers. I kept layering the color until I was happy with the shading. This technique gives the flowers a stained look. The glossy paper allows the color to glide and you end up getting a different coloring effect. I used the same ink to stamp the sentiment on Heavyweight Vellum #48 and cut a banner. I decided to fussy cut 2 flowers from the remainding stamped paper and adhere them on top of a simple pink frame cut from Mountain Rose Glimmer cardst...

DIY Background Die Layering + Our Winner is...

Every month we like to try out different techniques using our digital stamps and share short tutorials, tips and tricks with you on our inspiration blog hop. Today I have a super fun DIY tip so you can achieve the look of those new layering background dies that are so popular now! Using our new Strong & Courageous set with this bold roses, I knew I wanted a background with texture and pattern. I decided to try out one of my old background dies from Spellbinders to create a layered effect. I die cut the lattice 4 times in white and different tones of pink and adhered them shifting each one a little. The result is so neat and it really will cost you nothing since you can basically use dies from your stash! The white panel was actually embossed with the same die to continue the pattern (and it coordinates perfectly)! To break all the pink I added a bold green with the leaves and inked my silver foiled sentiment with black ink. All the coloring was done with Zig Markers. Imag...

DIY Foil Stamped Flowers on Vellum - Elegant Monochromatic Card + Tips & Tricks

I love using transparencies on cards. I usually use vellum because of how delicate it looks. So I decided to use one of Sweet 'n Sassy's latests flower stamp from a set I designed - Floral Greetings - in a non-traditional way. You will see me using a couple of stunning papers today from Paper Temptress too! I used a quick and easy DIY technique to foil the flowers on  heavyweight #48 vellum  to create these stamped embellishments. First, I stamped the flowers using pigment ink (which works just as well as any embossing ink), and I then heat embossed the images in gold. But because I wanted to create a metal on metal effect I went ahead and foiled the flowers in silver. All I did was cover the images with a piece of Deco Foil Silver Foil transfer sheet and ran them through a laminator making sure to wrap the stamped vellum within at least 2 copy paper sheets folded in half, to avoid the embossing powder from melting completely. This trick will allow you to get a distre...
