NSD Challenges have begun!

Hello! And welcome to our National Scrapbooking Day celebration at Hiding in my Craft Room. Starting at 9:00 am today, a new challenge will be featuring every hour until 1:00 pm.

Our first challenge featured an hour ago is a scrapbook page,
and the giveaway for the winner will be
$100 in DCWV goodies!

I'm here to join the second challenge of the day, a color challenge! We are to use a Stampin' Up combination: Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, and Melon Mambo. Feel free to use similar colors if you don't have these exact ones. You can use any brand that matches.

Our sponsor for this challenge is
The Scrapbook Stamp Society
One lucky winner
will receive 5 digital images

I created a flip card for this challenge. I got to use a lovely, lovely image courtesy of The Scrapbook Stamp Society... The card I designed is a birthday card for a girl. Please take a look:

Materials
Spellbinders
-Gold Labels Four
- Grand Calibur die cutting machine
Thoughtful Thelma by Sherri Baldy
My Pink Stamper - Spanish Sayings
Spectrum Noir markers - Blender, EB1, EB7, LV1, LV2, PL1, PL2, BP2, PP3
Staedtler markers - Olive green, Light brown
Ranger Distress Ink in Spun Sugar
Brilliance pigment ink - Coffee Bean
Sherry K. Designs paper - Purple
Cre-a 7/8"gross grain ribbon in dark pink
UHU glue stick
Bazic two sided tape
Merletto stickers
Other generic materials
Textured wrapping paper in olive green
Eggshell cardstock in white
Textured cardstock in pink

I did this card using only a label die, the rest is all measures and hand cutting. If you follow the correct measures it's easy. For a better idea of how to put the structure together click here. I highly recommend that you layer the card with the desired papers before die cutting the label, it will save you a lot of time. Once the card was layered I adhered two labels, one with the image (colored with Spectrum Noir markers) on the front and another one with the inside sentiment. I left a column without any paper to leave a space to write a brief message inside. Finally I added ribbon vertically and a bow, which actually helps keep the card closed. A few crystals and I was done.

I hope you can play along in our 'Old Elegant Mambo' challenge. Just visit Hiding in my Craft Room and link up your creation. For more inspiration please visit my teammates' blogs:

I'll be back in an hour with a new project and a new challenge for you! See you then...

    1. Thanks! I know, that digi is SO lovely! I wanted it the moment I saw it! The color combination is actually the challenge! I'm so glad I had those colors in my stash! I decided I would work with a Spanish sentiment this time. I'm glad you liked it!
