Folding Screen Card

Hi! It's nice to be back with a new project. I have had some ideas in mind for a card, and today I was able to make it. It's actually an accordion card, but it has a little twist, it's made to look like a folding screen.

I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to join some of my favorite challenges, and I went ahead and used some elements to inspire my design: A photo from House of Cards, A color combo from Our Daily Bread (white on white), and a theme from Craft Hoarders Anonymous (fun fold).

I decided I wanted to capture the white elements of this image, the basket's lattice and the florals. There so much texture to it. I really like it.

Also, I wanted to use a verse stamp from ODBD: "He makes all things beautiful in His time" from the set Faith, because I like it so very much.

Materials
Dies: Spellbinders - A2 Matting Basics A, Adorning Squares, French Frills, Majestic Lables Twenty-Five, Classic Decorative Inserts Three, Classic Edges Two, Labels Four, Small Lables, Fancy Lattice, Carnation Creations, Grand Calibur die cutting machine. Xcut - Leafy Flourishes
Marvy Uchida Jumbo Punch, butterfly
Making Memories Paper - Wedding
Our Daily Bread Stamps - Faith
Brilliance ink (used to emboss with definition)

Inkadinkado embossing powder in Silver Starlight
Zap! heat tool
Merletto crystals
Adheseves: Bazic two sided tape and foam tape, Elmer's Glue-All, Uhu glue stick
Other generic materials
Eggshell white cardstock
Vellum
2" one sided lace
3" Rough edge burlap ribbon in white
7/8" satin ribbon
1 7/8" tulle ribbon

This card is 4 1/2" x 3 5/8" when closed and 11" long when opened. For the front of the card I cut a frame and layered it with a vellum lattice die cut. I also added a bunch of elements, starting with lace and a border. Then on the side I attached some white carnations, a vellum butterfly, strips of burlap, a flourish, a dress form, tulle ribbon and a bow. All the shapes are die cuts, except for the butterfly which is actually a punch.

For the inside of the card, I layered one side with burlap ribbon and added the heat embossed sentiment, embellished with an Eiffel Towel die cut and another vellum butterfly. For the other side I created a pocket and fancy tag.

Last but not least, the folding screen's little legs were made using a label die, and that gave the design a nice touch. All the textures and shapes used give this card a lot of interest. During the process of making it, I realized it was going to end up being a wedding or anniversary card. It's an actual challenge to make a white on white card that does not look like one of those (something I'd like to achieve).

This was a fun, fun project to make, and I'm glad it turned out like I had planned. I hope you like it. Thanks so much for stopping by!
