Dies R Us Challenge #3

Hello and welcome to a new challenge post for Dies R Us. The challenge this time is "One for the Boys/Father's Day". Whether you create something for Father's Day or just a masculine project in general, the main rule is to use dies.

Three top favorites
will be chosen and
One lucky winner will receive a

$10 voucher to Dies R Us

This time I went for an elegant design, with lots of layering, in different tones of brown. Please take a look:

Materials
Spellbinders: Adorning Squares, Gold Circles One, Grand Calibur die cutting machine.
Merletto crystals
Bazic two sided tape and foam tape
Other generic materials
Specialty metallic cardstock in golden brown
Textured cardstock in chocolate brown
7/8" gross grain ribbon in brown

This is a 4"x4" card, layered with two large adorning squares that were later wrapped with a piece of brown ribbon. On top I added a small square, embellished with two circular dies that together form a medallion. The elegance of this card consists of die cuts, they add much texture and interest to the design.

I hope you feel inspired to make a masculine card, which I know is an exception considering we all mostly make feminine cards. To join our challenge all you need to do is visit Dies R Us Challenge, follow instructions and link up your creation. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by!

Dreaming of a White Christmas
gilded & elegant christmas card

I have a confession to make... This year I've been drawn to make white and gold Christmas cards. I can't even think of traditional Christmas colors when I want to make a project! So today's poinsettia card and tutorial translate very well what Christmas is gonna be like this December at home.

White and gold look so elegant together! Since the holidays are all about sparkle too, I used one of my favorite glitter techniques and I'm sharing a quick and easy tutorial with youHERE.

I created the background myself, layering snowflake stamps in different designs, first in a very light beige, then in gold embossing. Afterwards, I dry embossed the stamped mat with a sutile polka dot design and used a brayer to apply light beige paint to the raised pattern.

As for the very layered and beautiful center of the card, I started out with an intricate die cut (see tutorial HERE) and continued building layers, with large snowflake die cuts and finally with a large handmade poinsettia …
