I praise Him! - ODBDSLC224

I can't believe how fast this month has gone by! It's time for a new challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs and since it is the last week of the month our challenge is "Anything Goes". I hope you can join us! My card for today is monochromatic, in neutral hues and vintage style!

Main supplies
Music Speaks stamp set
Faith stamp set
Vintage Flourish Pattern dies
Beautiful Borders dies
Winter Collection 2014 6 x 6 Paper Pad
Other supplies
Inks: Brilliance Ink in Pearlescent Beige and Graphite Black. Distress Paint in Antique Linen, Crafter's Ink in Snow (to emboss)
Papers: Linen and Leather textured cardstock in white, embossed cardstock in beige, vellum
Tools: Zap! heat tool, Grand Calibur die cutting machine, Westcott Titanium Bonded trimmer
Embellishments: Martha Stewart Pastel Mini Pearls, Tim Holtz Crinkle Ribbon, 2" vintage lace

Adhesives: Bazic foam adhesive, Ad-Tech Crafter's Tape, Uhu silicone glue

As you can see I cut the Vintage Flourish Pattern frame in half vertically and adhered the resulting parts parallel to each other (outer sides facing inwards). This is a die cut alteration I like to do often! The dies I used for the beautiful labels are from the same set. I roughly stamped the central label with the bird image from the NEW set Music Speaks to create a soft background, and I stenciled it with beige ink and even smudged it with beige paint. I stamped the sentiment in black to make it stand out!

I painted in beige the vintage lace and crinkle ribbon to match the rest of the card and created a layered border below the labels. I also thought some gold would look beautiful with the design, so I stamped and heat embossed the butterfly branch image from Faith on vellum and fussy cut each pretty butterfly to adhere them around the card randomly. To complete the design I added some mini pearls to the die cut border and mounted the finished mat onto a white card base.

I love the soft hues of this card. I must confess I was inspired by the beautiful papers from Winter Collection 2014 to get started!

I hope you enjoyed today's post! To see all the projects created for ODBDSLC223 or to join the challenge click here. You have until February 1, 2015 at 8:00pm EDT to join us. Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic...
