Lilac Inspiration with Magnolia Dreams - Blog Hop & Winners!

Today is our inspiration blog hop with our GD shop team and there will be so many different project ideas for you! I wanted to share an elegant an easy to make set of notecards in beautiful lilac and aqua. The new digital paper pack Magnolia Dreams has a color palette that allows you to play with a few more colors other than fuscia and teal. You'll see me mixing and matching SVG cuts, some mine and another from a different designer and also traditional die cuts. Follow me to check out how I made these dreamy cards.

I am using 2 tones of lilac specialty cardstock and an aqua cardstock by by Paper Temptress, our collab partner this month who created a specialty paper pack that will let you make a large amount of projects in a variety of colors matching the patterns from our digital pack perfectly.

This card base has 3 different layers. I used Paper Temptress Aqua Basis 80#, Amethist Mica Metallic and Mountain Rose Glimmer.

Layer 1. I started of by cutting our A2 detailed medallion panel from the new Magnolia Dreams SVG pack on the Cricut Explore Air 2. That is going to be our first layer, sitting on top of the card base.

Layer 2. I also cut a Anna Griffin Flourish Cards and Embellishments card base sized to an A2. I did cut the back of the flourish card to create a matching layer for the medallion panel. Although the designs are different both of the panels match to perfection and you can see a hint of the flourish design under the medallion panel for a modern layered die cut look that is so on trend right now!

Layer 3. Our third layer is smooth. It's a simple A2 card panel cut from one of the patterns in the new Magnolia Dreams digital paper pack. Place this panel underneath the flourish and medallion layers.

Layer 4. Of course we need to embellish our notecards. I cut a traditional stitched circle die cut from the new Therm O Web Gina K. Designs line (from the Large Set) and added it to the center of the card.

Layer 5. Add a piece of lilac gross grain ribbon across the card panel and then add the last layer, a medallion SVG embellishment that comes in the new Magnolia Dreams SVG pack. Optional: Add some sparkle to the medallion customizing it with glitter. There is a super easy way to make your own matching glitter svg cuts. More on that technique HERE.

A rhinestone embellishment finishes off these notecards beautifully. Notecards shouldn't be plain. The new Magnolia SVG cuts are so fast to make using your electronic cutter and they look so detailed and elegant. Customize your notecards mixing and matching cuts and create a personalized card that everyone will love!

Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card. Really with card designing the hard part is figuring out what you want your card to look like in the end but once you have figured out what elements you'll be adding and where you will be placing them the card comes together pretty fast. So the behind the scenes may not ha
