Good afternoon! I must say even I am surprised to be here, ready to post a new card so soon. But truth be told, now that I have my Grand Calibur back I'm extra inspired, making cards with lots of dies on them. Also today, I'm feeling full of energy and I didn't want to waste the opportunity to make a card for some other challenges I had been planning to submit to.
I absolutely love the theme of this card, the color palette, and the white background... It looks so fresh and colorful. It was inspired by many challenges... That's right! I combined a sketch, an inspiration photo and some element challenges... Yes, I know, multitasking at it's most with my cardmaking.
Here is my card for today:
Materials
Spellbinders:
- Peony
- Carnation Creations
- Rose Creations
- Bitty Blossoms
- A2 Matting Basics
- Enchanted embossing folder
DoCrafts Xcut Large Dies - Leafy Flourishes
Inkadinkado:
- Personal Impressions stamp set
- Embossing Powder (mix) - Glam Gold and Silver Starlight
Ranger embossing ink
Color Box pigment ink - Frost White
Zap! heat tool
Merletto crystal stickers
Stanley GR10 glue gun
Bazic:
- Double Sided Foam Mounting Tape
- Double Sided Tape
Other generic materials
Vellum
Hawaii cardstock in white
Textured cardstock in pool and lime green
Bond paper in coral
Vintage gold button
I could say this is a clean and layered card or maybe classy and elegant? What about freestyle collage? It sure can go either way... I started off by dry embossing it's white layer. After adhering it to the card base I began working with the bouquet, positioning the flowers I made in the most balanced way possible while combining them with the leaves and flourishes. I wanted the flowers to look exactly like the ones on the inspiration photo, in fact I wanted the card to project the photo entirely. The coral peony and rose were sponged with white pigment ink on their edges. I decided I wanted to use vellum for some flourishes, and mix them with the green ones to soften the bouquet a little bit. I couldn't resist to add some crystals to the smaller flowers and a vintage button to the largest one. And, to finish the design I added a Happy Birthday sentiment from a stamp set that's been with me for quite some time, but whose font is timeless. I heat embossed it on vellum with a mix of gold and silver powder I like to do once in a while. And pronto!
I hope you like my card. I would love to know what you think. Thanks for stopping by!
