Hello! It's with great pleasure that I write this post, because today I'll share with you a card where I use one of my favorite stamp sets out there. And the best of all is, that I was given this set as part of a prize won at Sweet & Sassy Stamps. I had it on my wishlist and I'm so grateful I have it now.
Vintage cards are a delight to me, I enjoy making them greatly. And because this set is customizable, I was able to incorporate another of my new favorite stamp sets, one that I fought hard to get: Flourishes' Flowers for Jan. So with no further delay here is my card for today:
Materials
Sweet & Sassy - Vintage Seed Packet
Flourishes - Flowers for Jan
Spectrum Noir - PP5, PP3
Faber Castell watercolor pencils - 063, 074
Ranger Distress Inks - Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick, Old Paper
Ranger blender tool
Brilliance pigment ink - Graphite Black
Memento dye ink - Rich Cocoa
Hero Arts Cleardesign Block - Large Letter
Praise rotary circle cutter
Merletto crystal stickers
Other generic materials
3/8" Gross grain ribbon - light brown
Textured cardstock in Sand
Hawaii cardstock in White
I wanted to keep it simple, the card itself is the seed packet! I did create a window with a circle cutter, so that the Peony could stand out. And that is also why I stamped the flowers on white card stock. I combined to different coloring techniques, but because of the way I did it you can't tell immediately that the leaves are actually water colored while the flowers were colored with markers. I distressed the card with pink and brown, that way the tones of color coordinate with the flowers. I love the vintage look of it. To finish it I added some crystals and brown ribbon. It sure feels antique and for some reason fresh at the same time. Must be that wonderful pink Peony... :D
I really hope you enjoy this card as much as I do. I'm in love with these two stamp sets, and I'm also glad that I could mix them together.
Have a good day!

ReplyDeleteHi, Graciellie,
ReplyDeleteYou left a question on my blog (thank you!) and didn't know if you could see my reply but for the ODBD Sweet or Metal challenge:
The theme is open to interpretation. A flower would definitely be sweet. You can also use candy or honey. Some of the DT used metal but then they painted over it so it was not easily spotted. If you're not sure, just let us know in your description your interpretation. :) Perusing through your beautiful blog, I know whatever you create will be just gorgeous!
This is beautiful. I love how you cut the center circle to really show the flower.
