Watercolor Spring Blossoms

Hello my friends! After a good sunday rest, today feels to me like the official start of March... I can tell the weather's changing already... We had a lot of rainy, delightful days here, but now the warmth is starting to take over. It's still bearable, so I hope it doesn't end up too hot this year.

I have continued to experiment with water coloring, and today I have a beautiful CAS spring card that makes me think of a rose garden. Take a look:

Materials
Flourishes - Cherry Blossoms
Hero Arts - Friends are Treasures
Ranger embossing ink
Inkadinkado embossing powder in: Linen White, Glam Gold
ZAP! heat tool
Faber Castell watercolor pencils (032 - Pale Rose, 031 - Salmon)
Merletto Artistic brushes (red No. 4)
Merletto crystal stickers
Other generic materials
Hawaii cardstock in white
Textured cardstock in salmon

I wanted to create an unfinished frame stamping two corners of flowers facing diagonally. I heat embossed them in white, so that they would resist the water coloring. This way the effect is very subtle. I wanted to keep harmony with those delicate corners, so I embossed the sentiment in gold, on vellum and added some crystals. I used a salmon card base, which coordinated perfectly with the water colored blossoms.

I want to thank my friend Becky, from Tlady Designs, for her tips on water coloring, I appreciate it greatly! And something I did this time to get this soft coloring is I didn't dry colored directly on the image, instead I did it on a scrap piece of paper, and picked the color up with the wet brush, that way no pencil trace is left on the final design and the result is much more impeccable.

I hope this month brings you many good things, for your whole being to delight in. Be inspired and have a great week!

Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card. Really with card designing the hard part is figuring out what you want your card to look like in the end but once you have figured out what elements you'll be adding and where you will be placing them the card comes together pretty fast. So the behind the scenes may not ha
