Pears & Flowers Step Card

You may know by now that I try to make time to create projects for some of my favorite challenges. I particularly enjoy the challenges back at the Mod Squad Challenge. This week the host is Lee... She is a great host... Love her! She challenged us to use something with a Fruit or Harvest theme... Yes, it's a Fruitful Harvest challenge!

I really wanted to create something special for Lee, so I took my time. Here is my design:

I stamped and heat embossed the flowers and two pears in gold. The first are from Flourishes' Over the Garden Gate stamp set, and the last are from Inky Antics' Holy Spirit's Fruit.

I colored the images with alcohol markers. Next I fuzzy cut and sponged them with a little Distress Ink in Peeled Paint.

I also heat embossed a sentiment from Flourishes' Spring Bouquet stamp set. I die cut the sentiment with Spellbinders French Frills set and sponged it very lightly, also with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. I embellished the label altering another label from Spellbinders Fancy Label Tags One. I cut the fancy label in three parts and adhered the pieces to the back of the stamped label, showing only the filigree edges.

The flowers were embellished with another altered die cut from Spellbinders Frosty Forms set. It is a Chistmas set but the round filigree label it includes actually matches the design nicely. I cut the label in half and added it around the fuzzy cut flowers.

My card base was layered with Carta Bella's Hello Again paper pad. I did sponge the layers too with Peeled Paint Distress Ink, to give it sort the same tone. And finally I added the flowers on the tallest step, the two pears on the second step and the sentiment label on the front. To finish my design I added a few Baby Pearls - LeCreme.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my card and that you found my mini tutorial useful. I had fun making this card and I hope Lee likes it a lot!

Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card. Really with card designing the hard part is figuring out what you want your card to look like in the end but once you have figured out what elements you'll be adding and where you will be placing them the card comes together pretty fast.
