Splendorous Stars Collection - Our Daily Bread Designs

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs November Release. As you may know already I've been invited to join ODBD this month as a guest designer. I've been delighted with all your kind and encouraging comments, and of course I'll have a wonderful time designing with ODBD's Splendorous Stars Christmas Collection.

Here is a card and gift box set I made for today:

I wanted to create a delicate card, so I die cut the card base using the Flourished Star Pattern frame. I added a piece of lilac ribbon around the front of the card and adhered a double bow embellished with a couple of stars. I added a large sentiment, which I stamped and heat embossed in silver on a label die cut. To add contrast, I sponged the label with Memento Lulu Lavender ink.

I heat embossed in silver the largest star with a large patterned star stamp. This star stamp didn't precisely coordinate with the size of the star die, but it covered the die cut completely, and made it look great! The smaller star was die cut from lilac metallic cardstock and adorned with a small silver rhinestone.

To make the box I die cut two Flourished Star Pattern frames for it's cover and folded roughly a rectangular box with a zig zag accordion fold, as I call it. The cover was reinforced with a piece of lilac ribbon and a double bow which I decorated as the card, but I did use larger stars for it.
