Our Daily Bread Designs - December Release

A new month is here and I'm delighted to let you know that once more I've been invited to join Our Daily Bread Designs for their new release! I'm having a great time creating with the beautiful new collections of dies and stamps, and I'm beyond thankful!

Today the design team has a wonderful array of samples to inspire you. I have two cards to share with you all.

For my first card, I made a large rosette by die cutting two frames with the Flourished Star Pattern, then cutting them in halves vertically, scoring each piece and finally adhering the pieces together.

I also die cut four Gilded Gates to create two borders for the background of the card. Finally I stamped one of the many lovely sentiments from the Mini Tags clear stamp set on a mini tag die cut, which I mounted on a larger coordinating tag label.

Supplies

Gilded Gate die set
Flourished Star Pattern die set
Mini Tag Sentiments stamp set
The Gate stamp set
Christmas Paper Collection 2014

My second creation is a step card. I used craft metal for the gorgeous Gilded Gate die cuts. I used five gate die cuts, that I adhered together to cover the front of the first step. The second step was decorated with part of a Vintage Flourish Pattern frame. The final step was covered with a layer die cut with the largest frame from the recently released Flourished Star Pattern. I also added two coordinating Vintage Flourish Pattern labels that make the new sentiment from The Gate stamp set stand out nicely. I decorated the labels with some flourish die cuts on each side, but these are actually one little flourish label from the same set that I cut in half and adhered behind the silver label.

Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card. Really with card designing the hard part is figuring out what you want your card to look like in the end but once you have figured out what elements you'll be adding and where you will be placing them the card comes together pretty fast.
