Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card. Really with card designing the hard part is figuring out what you want your card to look like in the end but once you have figured out what elements you'll be adding and where you will be placing them the card comes together pretty fast. So the behind the scenes may not ha

Art Journal Spread: You are the Spark

I've noticed that my creative process is very intuitive and usually impulsed by strong emotions, from dissapointment to utter joy... I'm learning to embrace it and that is how all of a sudden I've found myself drawing more than ever. Of course, this is not only about drawing to me, it's far more significant and spiritual. Today's art journal spread came from a place of happiness and content. I sketched my girl, left it there and came back to work on it again yesterday. Again, my heart was in a happy place when I started painting and although I didn't know the details and the story that would emerge, the final meaning of these pages turned out to be very significant to me. How I painted my pages For the first time ever, I painted my pages with gouache. My husband got me lots of coloring media on his last work trip to China, including a large Marie's Extra Fine Gouache set of 36. I enjoyed working with them. It makes so much sense that artists ofte

WINNERS + Last Minute Gifts for Christmas: Apron Gift Card Holders

Christmas is upon us and I know many of us end up wrapping gifts and making tags and cards in a rush on Christmas Eve. So I am planning ahead preparing some outside of the box last minute gift ideas. This time I'm sharing these cute Christmas Apron gift / money holders! New Holiday Traditions Papers These sweet aprons look perfect thanks to our new digital papers from Holiday Traditions . You can find those here . They are super affordable and you can print them as many times as you like to recreate the same look on several projects. Also, I was able to get to aprons per printed 8 1/2" by 11" sheet. I printed them in a regular inkjet printer and used it to cut the pieces of this SVG file. I used the Precious Giftables cartridge -or should I say Christmas giftables- by the lovely Anna Griffin. It includes two pocketsm, one that you can see on the pictures to place a small card, and another one on the back that is perfect for your money gifts. So yes, they are

Using Aquapastels on my Bible: Tips with The Crafter's Workshop

I guess I want to compensate for the weeks I wasn't able to share any Art / Bible Journaling and so today, for the second time this week, I have a Bible page to share. I wanted to create a post with tips and tricks using The Crafter's Workshop Clear Gesso Matte , since it is what I use to prep my pages. Tips & More Bible Journaling Pages Click here to visit TCW's blog and read my post for today in which I'm sharing not only tips on how I use my TCW product for Bible Journaling, but also more pages using different media to give you ideas of how well TCW's Clear Gesso Matte and stencils work! The main coloring media I used on this page were Jane Davenport Aquapastels -beautiful watercolor crayons that are a must-have-, Sharpie Acrylic Paint Marker in White, A bit of Prismacolor pencils just to add detail here and there, some PanPastel for the background and a bit of Distress Oxide Ink to stencil some distressed patterns. The verse from my kit T

Living Hope: Bible Journaling Page with Unity Stamps Co. & Distress Oxide Inks

Today I wanted to stop by and share a new Bible Journaling page I worked on this morning. I know I had promised you to come back every weekend with a new art journaling inspiration project and that has not happened in the last couple of weeks. That is why I decided to come today, just because, to share a page inspired on a verse that blessed my life yesterday during a new church we visited, called Living Hope. This is the church's verse and of course I had to journal it. Hope is such a powerful word. We literally hold on to our hope during these trying times the world is going through. It seems like chaos, confusion and tragedy are everywhere we look at. But when that hope is a hope that relies on our Lord, we remain strong and positive. I know it is hard to realize when we are surrounded by personal challenges, bad health, family conflicts, social crisis, a suffering economy and more, but this verse is a reminder that we have a living hope in Jesus for a bright, good and bles

Winter Snow Cards - Stenciled Snowflakes with TCW Stencils & Therm O Web

I'm back with a new idea for Christmas, with a set of stenciled snowflakes card. I love winter themed cards and these backgrounds turned out so nice with the blue watercolored base. I think you'll find these cards are really easy to make. I prepared a short video to show you how I put made them. All products used were sent by The Crafter's Workshop and Therm O Web. Nevertheless, all opinions on this post are my own. Video Tutorial Click below to watch in just a few minutes how I put together these snowy cards! Make sure to visit The Crafter's Workshop blog to take note of all the supplies used! I tested a couple of modeling pastes from TCW and I found that the Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste is great for layering stenciled textures. As you can see on the picture below the paste held its shape on top of the Decofoil Gel and you can't see a ghost trace of the previous stenciled and foiled textured. Hope you love this idea and that
