What to do with Scraps? Clean & Simple card with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Ever wonder what to do with all those white cardstock scraps? Well, today I have a floral notecard made with just scraps that I used to stamp floral images from the set  Scribble Flowers  from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I stamped a bunch of images on scraps of white cardstock and colored them with Zig Markers and a waterbrush to give them a quick watercolored effect. To add some details I scribbled following the design of the images using an oil based marker in gold. I adhered all the images to a simple white card base to which I added a gold border using the same marker used before. And there you go, a quick and pretty card is ready!  This kind of card is super practical but pretty and it truly saves you time if you stamp as many white scraps of paper you have color them and save them on a basket, ready to be used on a project. This tip comes in handy especially when there's not much time and you need to send a card as soon as possible! That's all for ...

Stamped & Stenciled Cards with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

It's Gracie from Graciellie Design with a new cardmaking idea to share. I'm saying good-bye to Summer with a set of colorful stamped and stenciled cards. I had lots of fun making these so I'm happy to be sharing them with you today! I started out by picking my color palette. I wanted to go for a bright and unique color combo and that is how my first card came to life in yellow and green. I stenciled the backgrounds with a TCW Distressed Details stencil using mostly ink. I did stencil a few patterns with TCW heavy body acrylic paint in yellow and silver metallic. I stamped and colored the flowers from  Mason Jar Bouquet Clear Stamp Set  with Spectrum Noir markers and then added a stamped banner with the sentiment. This is a one layered card. I didn't add card panels at all and that is why I love these designs so much. If you use a nice cardstock you are able to add lots of ink and paint layers, but of course make sure to use as little medum as possible. ...

Trying Prismacolor Pencils for the first time with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Coloring mediums have been all I've thought about this year, from Zig markers to watercolors... But today I'm trying out Prismacolor pencils for the first time! It is a different medium, slower to begin with, but it is -oh so totally- worth it! I decided to use Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Mason Jar Bouquet flowers to try out my Prismacolors for the first time. I didn't use any solution to blend the colors, I simple did it the classic way... Layering. Layering requires patience and if you have some form of arthritis you'll feel uncomforable at some point but if you don't press the pencil too hard, apply the color with small circular strokes you will achieve a neat transition. The flowers turned out so delicate and pretty that I decided to create a very intricate lace card base for them using Anna Griffin's Elegant Embellishments 2 cartridge on my new Cricut Explore Air 2. This card has so many delicate layers and it makes the images look even more cla...

CAS Coffee Card with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

I love clear stamp sets, and what I try to do every time I get a new set is stamp as many scraps as I possibly can, fussy cut them and color them all. That gives me a lot of options when I'm about to put together a card. That is exactly what I did with the coffee cup stamps from Fill me Up by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Today's card is one of those clean and simple numbers created with previously stamped pieces on an also previously painted background. You see, I find it to be extra productive to make backgrounds and color stamped images in advance and keep them in a special basket until it is time to make a card. It often proves to be a magical process when you end up finding every coordinating piece you need in the same forgotten spot of your craft room! Not long ago I shared on YouTube how I make these watercolor washes for my card backgrounds. I use student grade watercolors, but I love the results I get with them. I am also using a special shimmery metallic paper ...

Bright & Happy Card with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Today I'm using what I think is the cutest coffe cup clear stamp there is to make a freestyle collage card! I'm featuring stamps from the sets   Fill Me Up   and  Scribble Flowers  by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps ! To make this card I went ahead and stamped as many scraps of white cardstock I could with flowers and leaves from the set  Scribble Flowers  with Umbrella Crafts Black Premium Dye Ink. This particular ink I used is hybrid and it allows you to watercolor the stamped images. I colored them with Zig Markers and a waterbrush using bright colors. Once all the images were colored I fussy cut them and set them aside. I then stamped the coffee cup from  Fill Me Up  on Kraft 100# cardstock and the heart coffee cup sleeve on Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper using the same black ink, and fussy cut those too. The final element I stamped was the mini label with little check box words from the same set and heat embossed them in white on 48#...

Watercolor Wash Background & Stamped Flowers

Today I have another fun card idea using clear stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. The new set Mason Jar Bouquet is definetely a beauty and I wanted to stretch the stamps in the set to get different looks. So today I only stamped part of the mason jar image to make to bouquet hang from 3 corners of my card front. I stamped part of the bouquet on two corners of the card front in black using Umbrella Crafts premium dye ink. To make sure the ink wouldn't smear I heat set it well. (This works all the time for me.) I used a very pigmented set of watercolors in Rose, Purple Pale and Ultramarine Blue to create a wash across the card front. I kept layering color until I was happy with the result. I added some splatters and iridescent rhinestones to finish off the background and attached a stamped banner with a piece of Therm O Web foam strip to give it dimension. I hope you enjoyed today's post. This card is really simple to make and the result is striking! I'm plan...

Tone on Tone Stamping & Coloring - Stunning Mason Jar Bouquet Stamps

Today I'm sharing my first card using one of Sweet 'n Sassy's new stamp set   Mason Jar Bouquet ! This set is so pretty, so versatile and is perfect for coloring. I stamped the flowers in hot pink dye ink and colored them in the same color, to create a tone on tone effect. I have been using watercolor markers to color a lot lately and I've also been drawn to bright, summer colors. I watercolored this flowers in hot pink using very little water and added a fresh green on the leaves. I decided they would look great with a few green leaf die cuts. I used foam squares to give them dimension. The sentiments in this set are so beautiful, a very nice font and size. I was able to stamp this Mother's Day greeting  in black, on one side of the die cut panel matching the rest of the card design. The images are so striking and pretty I really didn't need to do much for my card base. I just die cut a large intricate panel, cut it in half and layered the p...

Mixed Media Card with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

If you follow me on social media you know that lately I have been playing with some mixed media and making fun backgrounds. Today I am sharing card for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps using one of those backgrounds I came up with. This fun and colorful background started out as a way to try out some Mixed Media Sheets and I instantly became addicted to the sheets and got all my mixed media supplies out. I really wanted to use this background for a card so I decided to stamp and color these flowers from my stamp set for SNSS Floral Greetings . I watercolored them with Zig markers and wasn't careful about it because I wanted the coloring to match the playful background. I decided to add stamped words here and there to the background using new stamps from the set  Words of Life: Actions  using Mix'd Media Inx. A torned piece of fuscia cardstock brings together all the elements just as a piece of ribbon would. To finish the card I stamped and heat embossed in clear a sentiment f...

Stained Flowers DIY Patterned Paper with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Floral specialty papers can be beautiful, especially when they have a metallic finish. I decided to go ahead and try to make my own using  Floral Greetings  and  Peaceful Peonies  from  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps   and  Laser Silver Lustre paper. I stamped the flower multiple times to create a pattern. I used Color Box Mix'd Media Inx in Truffe and heat embossed it with Bridal Tinsel embossing powder from Ranger. I then colored the flowers applying a bit of Zig markers and spreading the color using my fingers. I kept layering the color until I was happy with the shading. This technique gives the flowers a stained look. The glossy paper allows the color to glide and you end up getting a different coloring effect. I used the same ink to stamp the sentiment on Heavyweight Vellum #48 and cut a banner. I decided to fussy cut 2 flowers from the remainding stamped paper and adhere them on top of a simple pink frame cut from Mountain Rose Glimmer cardst...

DIY Foil Stamped Flowers on Vellum - Elegant Monochromatic Card + Tips & Tricks

I love using transparencies on cards. I usually use vellum because of how delicate it looks. So I decided to use one of Sweet 'n Sassy's latests flower stamp from a set I designed - Floral Greetings - in a non-traditional way. You will see me using a couple of stunning papers today from Paper Temptress too! I used a quick and easy DIY technique to foil the flowers on  heavyweight #48 vellum  to create these stamped embellishments. First, I stamped the flowers using pigment ink (which works just as well as any embossing ink), and I then heat embossed the images in gold. But because I wanted to create a metal on metal effect I went ahead and foiled the flowers in silver. All I did was cover the images with a piece of Deco Foil Silver Foil transfer sheet and ran them through a laminator making sure to wrap the stamped vellum within at least 2 copy paper sheets folded in half, to avoid the embossing powder from melting completely. This trick will allow you to get a distre...

Watercolored Peony with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

I've been loving my Zig markers and have been using it so much lately! Today once again I'm sharing a beautiful emboss resist watercolored peony from Peaceful Peonies by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps . I used a color I don't usually use but it sure makes you think of Summer! I'm also using a couple of stunning papers from Paper Temptress today! I do not use watercolor paper to color since I am unable to find it where I live, but I use a paper that does not absorb the water so much and I use little water and that does the trick. I'm guessing the paper (called Opalina), is very compressed or has a thin coating that makes it work well with watercolors. I used yellow, hot pink and a peachy pink to color the flowers and two tones of green for the leaves. To make the flower look even fuller I added leaf die cuts in olive green and also some ferns in Gold Metallic Vellum . The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on heavyweight vellum #48 in gold sparkle emboss...

Trust in God with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Today I'm sharing a simple but versatile idea to mix and enhance your card front using 2 different stamp sets to create a focal sentiment and a verse to go along with it. My card has a striking, beautiful color palette. The fun polka dot pattern on the background adds a fun touch to the card. This is a bright and feminine ensemble that says Summer all along. The encouraging word and verse are perfect for the card front. I used one of the words from  Words of Life  as the focal sentiment and then I stamped right under it a verse from  Peaceful Peonies .I framed the inspiring sentiment with decorative die cuts and a heat embossed peony I colored with watercolor markers. I invite you to stop by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps shop   to take a closer look at these and many other new stamps. The shop has also a 50% off stamp and die sale you might like too!
