Beads, Flowers & Crackle + Video

This is proving to be a very busy week here at the blog but it's also been a happy crafting week so far! Today I'm joining the  Frilly & Funky  team as their Guest Designer, and I couldn't be more thrilled. I'm always inspired by the beautiful projects shared there so it's an honor to be able to join them at least for a bit! The challenge at Frilly & Funky is  Snap, Crackle, Crackle!  Let's see some cracks on your creations! You can use crackle paint, crackle paste, crackle glaze, crackle accents, an old cracked image, a piece of cracked ultra thick embossing powder, a cracked pattern from a stencil or stamp... You can even doodle on your crackle design! Anything goes, as long as is cracks! I love to use crackle embossing paste on my shabby chic projects and that's exactly what I used for today's card. A Look Back to ODBD's December Release!

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs December Release! This is such a versatile and beautiful release. I've had so much fun using the stamps and the gorgeous dies. In this occasion I made a card with a delicate vintage look and lots of dimension Supplies  GILDED GATE DIES MINI TAG DIES VINTAGE FLOURISH PATTERN DIES THE GATE Stamp Set ADMIT THREE (Clear Stamps) CHRISTMAS COLLECTION 2014 6x6 PAPER PAD To make my card I started off by die cutting my card base using the Vintage Flourish Pattern die. Then I adhered two labels on the center, from the same set, a polka dot patterned label and a smaller label where I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from The Gate stamp set. I stenciled the sentiment label with two different inks too. I stamped and heat embossed in white three tickets from Admit Three and the gate from The Gate stamp set and then die cut all the stamped images with their coordinating dies from the Mini Tags and the Gilded Gate di...

Our Daily Bread Designs - December Release

A new month is here and I'm delighted to let you know that once more I've been invited to join Our Daily Bread Designs for their new release! I'm having a great time creating with the beautiful new collections of dies and stamps, and I'm beyond thankful! Today the design team has a wonderful array of samples to inspire you. I have two cards to share with you all. For my first card, I made a large rosette by die cutting two frames with the Flourished Star Pattern, then cutting them in halves vertically, scoring each piece and finally adhering the pieces together. I also die cut four Gilded Gates to create two borders for the background of the card. Finally I stamped one of the many lovely sentiments from the Mini Tags clear stamp set on a mini tag die cut, which I mounted on a larger coordinating tag label. Masculine Christmas Card - Our Daily Bread Designs

What a privilege it has been to join Our Daily Bread Designs ' talented team this month as their guest designer! I'm so thankful! Today I'm sharing a masculine card. This card is quite simple. I wanted to make a narrow card, that would fit in a tag envelope, so I altered the frame from Flourished Star Pattern Die Set cutting it in half vertically and adhering the halves one on top of the other. To hide the alteration a bit I added a piece of tan gross grain ribbon that also gives the card a rustic feel to the design. Supplies Flourished Star Pattern Die Set Splendorous Stars Die Set Snowflake Star Stamp Set Winter Collection Paper Pack I hope you enjoyed seeing my little card today! Thanks so very much for everyone's support and encouraging comments at ODBD!!! Thank you for stopping by!

Splendorous Stars Collection - Our Daily Bread Designs

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs November Release. As you may know already I've been invited to join ODBD this month as a guest designer. I've been delighted with all your kind and encouraging comments, and of course I'll have a wonderful time designing with ODBD's Splendorous Stars Christmas Collection. Here is a card and gift box set I made for today: I wanted to create a delicate card, so I die cut the card base using the Flourished Star Pattern frame. I added a piece of lilac ribbon around the front of the card and adhered a double bow embellished with a couple of stars. I added a large sentiment, which I stamped and heat embossed in silver on a label die cut. To add contrast, I sponged the label with Memento Lulu Lavender ink. I heat embossed in silver the largest star with a large patterned star stamp. This star stamp didn't precisely coordinate with the size of the star die, but it covered the die cut completely, and m...

Our Daily Bread Designs - November New Release

Welcome to a special post for Our Daily Bread Designs November Release! This month I'll join ODBD 's talented crew as a guest designer (what a joy!). When I started sharing cards on my blog the Shining the Light challenge was one of the first challenges I participated in. The ODBD team instantly showed me their amazing support with constant words of encouragement and that is something I will always be thankful for! Of course I look up to all the designers and have become good friends with a few. So yes, it is an honor to join them this month, and I can't thank Kelley enough for her kind invitation! I made two cards for today using the stunning dies, stamps and paper collections from this new release. For the first one I combined white, light aqua and gold, adding texture and detail with white tule, aqua ribbon, vellum and a vintage button. The stars were stamped and heat embossed with gold, and so was the sentiment. The gold button tied it all together and gave the card ...

Floral Tea Box - Craft Hoarders Anonymous GDT

Hello and welcome to my second post as Guest Designer for Gloria Stengel's Craft Hoarders Anonymous challenge blog! As you may know by now I've been invited to join their amazing and talented team for the month of August. I've been having lots of fun making my projects and now is time to share my second creation inspired by the current challenge: "Button it Up!" . Crafters of every stripe are button hoarders! Buttons are pretty, inexpensive, and extremely versatile. If you are a card maker, quilter, layout artist, or anything in between, you probably have a button hoard! Buttons come in many sizes, styles, shapes, and colors, plus they are easy to store...usually in cute containers! Pull out those bins of buttons and use some of them for your challenge project! If you saw my first project for Craft Hoarders posted a couple of weeks ago, you know that I hoard vintage buttons (here) . That project itself was made to contain those buttons so I could keep them ha...

Floral Altered Jar - Craft Hoarders Anonymous GDT

Hello everyone! I'm so excited that this day finally arrived! This month two of my projects will be featured on Gloria Stengel's Craft Hoarders Anonymous blog. I have been invited to join her fabulous, talented team as guest designer starting today with Challenge #13: Let's Cycle...Up-cycle, That Is!   What's this challenge about? Being frugal and going green is what it's all about. Show us how you can up-cycle something using "junk" from your hoard. Most craft hoarders also hoard boxes, tins, packaging, and bits of this and that. Our mantra is, "I can MAKE something with that!" Now is your chance! Up-cycle. I decided to up-cycle a glass coffee jar. I never throw one away. I love to use them to store fresh oregano from my mom's garden, for example. But this seemed like the perfect opportunity to make something pretty with one of them, for my desk. Here's my altered jar:   1. For this project, I made tons of handmade flower...
