Hello there! Today a new video tutorial is up for my handmade flowers series. This time I'm showing you yet another way of making beautiful flowers using the same dies used for Handmade Flowers 1. This technique can be used with any flower punch or die cuts and doesn't require any special tools. This is proving to be a very busy week here at the blog but it's also been a happy crafting week so far! Today I'm joining the  Frilly & Funky  team as their Guest Designer, and I couldn't be more thrilled. You can use crackle paint, crackle paste, crackle glaze, crackle accents, an old cracked image, a piece of cracked ultra thick embossing powder, a cracked pattern from a stencil or stamp... A new month of challenges and wonderful releases is here! Have you seen Our Daily Bread Designs new release? It's just gorgeous and full of many, many new stamps and dies that I know you'll love. So today I am sharing a card I made with some of the new products for our Color Inspiration challenge . I decided to use yellow, blue and green from the color board. I didn't know how my design would turn out because this are not my usual colors, but I am really happy with the result. I used two paper collections from ODBD: Rustic Beauty and Blushing Rose . The handmade flowers were made with the new Birds and Nest   dies set, that includes two different flower dies. This week our challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such is: Letter It , in other words use a letter or more on your creation! I went ahead and used some letter stickers on my mixed media freestyle collage card! This is the first card I make with my new stamp set by SNSS, Parisian Postcard. Today I have an unexpected design to share with you... I went CAS for this week's challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such: Winter Birds . I'm enjoying the cooler weather, but thankfully we only get rain. For all of you whose towns have been covered with snow, I hope you're staying warm and creative! So let me inspire you a bit with my clean and simple Winter card. I die cut a card base with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A. I created a scene on the actual card front with Penny Black's Tweet Tweet stamp set. I used Memento ink for the lilac branches and heat embossed the bird on the branch with Gold detail embossing powder from Sparkle 'n Sprinkle. I also heat embossed a wonderful sentiment from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps called Breathe... What a encouraging sentiment! As you can see I sprayed the card with lilac and gold. Every third week of the month Our Daily Bread Designs will host an inspiration challenge. In this occasion our inspiration photo for the challenge is a gorgeous shabby chic image, with colors, patterns and textures that you will enjoy working with! Supplies Aster dies Fancy Foliage dies Beautiful Borders dies Doily dies Mini Tag dies Mini Tag Sentiments Flourished Star Pattern I created a shabby chic mixed media card with lot's of texture and elements that resemble those from the inspiration photo. To create the background: 1. Die cut a pierced matting layer using ODBD's Flourished Star Pattern. 2. Use a stencil to add embossing paste. I mixed a drop of Distress re-inker in Spun Sugar to a bit of Dreamweaver Pearlescent paste. 3. Cut pieces of drywall tape (from the hardware store) roughly and adhere to the card as desired. 4. Happy Monday! I have the privilege to share a card I made just for fun today, and I say privilege because I don't always have the time to make an extra card. I have been experimenting with different materials to create organic looking embellishments. My last card featured a DIY rosette embellishment made of a very common every day material. This month Sin City Stamps partnered with Cottonwood Arts . I love CA's canvases and I've enjoyed making projects with them during the last months. Let's take a look at a set of butterfly canvases I presented separately, but that were designed to go together as a set. I used a stamp set called Love of Butterflies on both projects. Today I'm excited to share a project I made for Sin City Stamps in partnership with Gelli Arts , the makers of Gel Printing Plates. I created a stamped image with an amazing background, all in one layer! Many possibly know already what a Gelli Plate is, but in case you are not familiar with it I'll give you a brief intro. A Gel Printing Plate looks and feels like gelatin, but is durable, reusable and stores at room temperature. It's easy to clean and always ready for printing. Monoprinting on a Gelli plate is simple and fun. You can use it with acrylic or poster paints, and you may combine it with stencils, and masks. You can also create textures and patterns using a wide range of simple materials or tools. Once you press down your cardstock to the plate, you'll get a great background, which will result different every single time. Warning: It may be addictive!
