- And our Giveaway Winner! -

It's finally time for our inspiration blog hop! Today we have more project ideas using our new August stamp release . If you haven't had a chance to visit our shop and check out our collection click HERE . To all of you who have been part of our celebration, our designers and followers -old and new-, thanks for making of this new release a success! My card for today features yet again one of my favorite stamp sets from the new collection: Sent with a Prayer . I am using again the leaf images as embellishments (printed and foiled on acetate), thanks to the help of a Samsung laser printer, a Mini Minc machine and Deco foil transfer sheets. The sentiment from the same stamp set was printed and then foiled with matte black Deco Foil to add even more contrast against the brown cardstock. I layered all the elements on this design on a vintage patterned paper panel, that I aged even more applying ink sprays in Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint and also some Pan Pastel in Titaniu...

Distressed Foil Christmas Cards

Early this year I discover the beauty that is metallic foiling. Projects seem to come to life when a foil detailed is added and they just look stunning and elegant! Today I have to show you not one but two different projects and tutorials using Thermoweb's iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Sheets and adhesives , featuring a technique I came up with to create a distressed look on your cards. For my first card, I foil distressed poinsettias. I also went ahead and worked with foil on foam die cuts. Learn how I made this colorful clean and layered card  here . For my second card I layered two different Deco Foil sheets to give the distressed background depth and interest. I ended up applying foil to the word bead too! Learn how I made this card here . I hope you liked today's cards and that you found the tutorials helpful! A complete list of supplies is included in my tutorials here . Vintage Blessing - ODBD Sketch

It's time for a sketch challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs . Today's sketch was so much fun to play with and it also made my design look elegant! As promised last week I'll be sharing male card ideas throughout the month. My card for today would work well for any occasion and even for a lady, since it incorporates all sorts of elements. I used 3 different patterned papers from the new ODBD vintage collection and cut two banners included in the same paper pack to add them as elements to my card. I picked black as my accent color and followed the sketch vertically. I really like the new stamp set and I think it matches the design perfectly! ODBD Color Challenge + Video

A new month of challenges and wonderful releases is here! Have you seen Our Daily Bread Designs new release? It's just gorgeous and full of many, many new stamps and dies that I know you'll love. So today I am sharing a card I made with some of the new products for our Color Inspiration challenge . I decided to use yellow, blue and green from the color board. I didn't know how my design would turn out because this are not my usual colors, but I am really happy with the result. I used two paper collections from ODBD: Rustic Beauty and Blushing Rose . The handmade flowers were made with the new Birds and Nest   dies set, that includes two different flower dies. I will be sharing a video tutorial on how to make flowers with this set tomorrow, so stay tuned. I finished the flower bouquet with flourishes and leaves die cut with the Fancy Foliage set. I used the beautiful Quatrefoil Pattern die, cutting it roughly to give the card a mixed media feel. I ...

Vintage Spring Blossoms - House of Cards

Welcome to my post for this month's House of Cards challenge: Bokeh . Have you tried the Bokeh technique before? Well, I knew the technique but had not tried it yet. This technique imitates a photography effect that plays with light. I hope you get a chance to visit the House of Cards blog to see all the different samples that will be shared starting today and of course to join the challenge with your take on the Bokeh theme.  I want to apologize for the pictures because it is raining and I had to take them in my craft room. The card looks prettier in "real life" but you can sure see well the Bokeh background. I used earthy tones for the background, because I wanted to make a vintage card. Something basic to have for this technique is a circle stencil, at least that makes the process way easier. I used a homemade stencil with different sizes of circles created for me by my friend Sue (here) and applied four colors of ink with a sponge dauber. I used Distress...

A Shabby Chic Spring Card - House of Cards

Today I'm sharing a shabby chic card I created for House of Cards . This month's challenge is to use butterflies and/or colors from the inspiration photo. I went for the butterfly theme only, without knowing where to start and after a few handmade flowers and stamped butterflies I hit it off. I am so happy with how the design turned out! The butterflies were stamped with my set Parisian Postcard released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, fussy cut and added to the card around the sentiment's label and handmade flowers. Since I used blue for the flowers, and followed by brown for the butterflies and sentiment, I decided that my patterned paper from the recently released Floral Frames Paper Pack (available on Etsy here ) would go together perfectly. I accentuated the color scheme with a light green. I used a few die cuts to add even more texture, layering and depth to the design, after all it is a shabby chic card! I stenciled the patterned paper with crackle embossi...
