Have you thought of me?

This week's challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such is Thoughtful using the range of colors from the inspiration photo (see here) . There are so many pretty colors on the photo, chances are you will be inspired instantly! Adding sentiments such as "Thinking of you", "In my thoughts", "Here for you" and more would certainly be fitting for the challenge. There is still time to join so I hope you can share your  creation with us in the next couples of days. I went for a "thinking of you" card combined with a Valentine's theme. I embellished the front of the card with handmade flowers. Crepe paper works wonderful for flowers and though you have to be very careful while you make them it's oh so worth it. I sponged the petals edges with dark ink and sprayed the center with lighter tones. This gave the flowers an organic, vintage look. When you open this pretty card you are welcomed by a 3D, pop-up Eiffel Tower! I actually...

Start where you are...

Today I have an unexpected design to share with you... I went CAS for this week's challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such: Winter Birds . I'm enjoying the cooler weather, but thankfully we only get rain. For all of you whose towns have been covered with snow, I hope you're staying warm and creative! So let me inspire you a bit with my clean and simple Winter card. I die cut a card base with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A. I created a scene on the actual card front with Penny Black's Tweet Tweet stamp set. I used Memento ink for the lilac branches and heat embossed the bird on the branch with Gold detail embossing powder from Sparkle 'n Sprinkle. I also heat embossed a wonderful sentiment from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps called Breathe... What a encouraging sentiment! As you can see I sprayed the card with lilac and gold. The lilac drops and sprays were done with a DIY Distress Ink spray I made using Shaded Lilac Re-Inker and water mixed in a Empty Spri...

A Vintage Rose & a Birthday Wish

This week our challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such is: Pink and Polka Dots. The photo inspiration for the challenge is both fun and vintage, with those lovely porcelain dolls, but I decided to go vintage all the way with my card for today. I love using digital patterned papers, and I only print them on White Pearl Linen . The vintage floral paper you see me using is one I recently designed and that's available for free download on the Freebies section (on top). I sponged the polka dot paper mixing Ann Butler Crafter's Inks, Sunshine and Color Box Crafter's Ink, Bark. I used a pierced matting die from Our Daily Bread Designs Flourished Star Pattern set to cut the patterned papers. I cut the patterned layers in halves and adhered one on top of the other to create a base for all the embellishments. I created a rose using Spellbinders Rose Creations and sprayed it with a mix of water and Ann Butler's Crafter's Ink in Berry, using a Spritzer Bottle. I decided ...

A Winter Gazebo

For what I've heard from dear friends of mine around the world, the weather is reaching very low temperatures... A friend in Arizona, Sue from Sue Paper Crafts , got a LOT of snow... Huh! She wasn't counting on that for sure! Back where I live we've been fortunate enough to have gotten rainy days, but it doesn't even get somewhat near to other countries' winters. This brings me to my card for today... A winter themed card! This week at Classy Cards 'n Such we are celebrating our first challenge of the year and it's a color inspiration challenge (using teal) with a twist... Add a snowflake! For today's card I used many intricate die cuts. I combined different tones of teal, with vanilla, tan and white. I used Spellbinders Gazebo to die cut the delicate shape from teal patterned paper from ODBD. I picked another coordinating paper from the same set to cut a snowflake with Stampendous Snowflake. I thought a second snowflake would look great...

Good Thoughts Bear Good Fruit

Once again, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'm happy to have the chance to share with you a card I made using gorgeous supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such ! I love to add encouraging sentiments to my cards, and CCNS carries many beautiful stamp sets with uplifting messages. Today my card features one of these stamps, with a saying I firmly believe in. I started out by die cutting a base layer from Stardream Rose Quartz using Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A. Then I die cut a filigree frame using Our Daily Bread's Vintage Flourish Pattern . The patterned paper I used is actually digital, and I printed it on White Pearl Linen . Next I stamped and heat embossed in Gold detail a sentiment from Inky Antics Holy Spirit's Fruit stamp set. Centering the already stamped sentiment, I die cut the cardstock with a gorgeous new die from Spellbinders called Victorian Medallion Two, and stenciled the center with Distress Ink in Spun Sugar. Before mounting all the pieces to ...
