Let's go green!

Hi everyone! I hope you've had a nice weekend so far... As for me, I actually challenged myself to use green on a card. And I went clean & layered too. It's a bit traumatic to go from vintage to green CAL all of a sudden, I don't recommend it... LOL. But I'm one of those who sets on an idea and goes for it whatever it takes... That sounded drastic! Actually, I'm in a place in my creative life where I need to discover more of what I am capable of, and challenges help me with that. Below is my personal inspiration photo for this card (not that I wasn't inspired by the challenges' photos or color boards too :D)...

So yes, it is a floral card -what a surprise-. LOL. And with no further ado, here's what I came up with:

Materials
Flourishes stamps - Flowers for Jan
Inkadinkado stamps - Floral expressions
Memento dye ink - Rich Cocoa
Brilliance pigment ink - Coffee Bean
Hero Arts Cleardesign Block - Large Letter
Ranger embossing ink

Imagine Crafts sponge dauber
Inkadinkado embossing powder - Clear
ZAP! heat tool
Faber Castell color pencils - 071, 070, 063, 046, 076, 089
Merletto:
- Artistic brushes - Y1
- Paper twine - Brown
- Crystal stickers
Bazic two sided tape and mounting tape
Other generic materials

Hawaii cardstock - White
Specialty metallic cardstock - Brown

I stamped the Iris flowers on regular cardstock, as long as you don't use too much water it's ok. I watercolored them and in the end I heat embossed the images in Clear. I cut the upper contour of the flowers and left the other sides as they were. That way I was able to make those flowers pop a little more. I like how this card is framed symmetrically, that sole detail gives the design a clean elegance. To finish the design, I thought I'd use this brown paper twine I had in my stash, it looks like it belongs to this card. Oh, and of course I had to add some crystals :D

Hope you enjoyed. Continue to have a good weekend!

Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card.
