Sweet Birthday Card

Hello everyone. This week has gone by so fast and I can't believe it's time for another challenge at Hiding in my Craft Room: "Pumpkin Cobbler Delight". This is a color challenge and we are asked to use Stampin' Up's colors: Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, and Daffodil Delight.

Our sponsor this week is 2 Cute Ink, and oh my are their images cute indeed!
2 Cute Ink is giving away
Two images from their store
to a lucky winner!

I got to use one of their images called Cupcake Kitty and I loved playing with it. I think it's perfect for a birthday card but would also work with so many other occassions, especially for a kid.

I printed the image on White Pearl Linen which is my preferred textured cardstock for that task. I colored the kitty with Spectrum Noir markers from various sets (Yellows, Reds, Pinks, Essentials) and added some glitter glue to the cupcake frost that I think looks perfect with the fun design. I wrapped a piece of red ribbon around the cupcake, that matches the little cherry, and tied a bow.

I mounted the image on a layer of gingham patterned paper from Shery K. Designs and adhered it to an orange base
I die cut with Spellbinders' Diamond Effects which goes along nicely with the rest of the design.

Finally I added a little banner with a heat embossed sentiment from Penny Black's Tweet Tweet set in Silver.

I really hope you feel inspired to join us this week! Also remember that the winners of our blog hop have been announced, so you better hop along again and check if you won one or more of the great prizes given away (click here).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Dreaming of a White Christmas
gilded & elegant christmas card

I have a confession to make... This year I've been drawn to make white and gold Christmas cards. I can't even think of traditional Christmas colors when I want to make a project! So today's poinsettia card and tutorial translate very well what Christmas is gonna be like this December at home.

White and gold look so elegant together! Since the holidays are all about sparkle too, I used one of my favorite glitter techniques and I'm sharing a quick and easy tutorial with youHERE.

I created the background myself, layering snowflake stamps in different designs, first in a very light beige, then in gold embossing. Afterwards, I dry embossed the stamped mat with a sutile polka dot design and used a brayer to apply light beige paint to the raised pattern.

As for the very layered and beautiful center of the card, I started out with an intricate die cut (see tutorial HERE) and continued building layers, with large snowflake die cuts and finally with a large handmade poinsettia …

Pears & Flowers Step Card

You may know by now that I try to make time to create projects for some of my favorite challenges. I particularly enjoy the challenges back at the Mod Squad Challenge. This week the host is Lee... She is a great host... Love her! She challenged us to use something with a Fruit or Harvest theme... Yes, it's a Fruitful Harvest challenge!

I really wanted to create something special for Lee, so I took my time. Here is my design:

I stamped and heat embossed the flowers and two pears in gold. The first are from Flourishes' Over the Garden Gate stamp set, and the last are from Inky Antics' Holy Spirit's Fruit.

I colored the images with alcohol markers. Next I fuzzy cut and sponged them with a little Distress Ink in Peeled Paint.

I also heat embossed a sentiment from Flourishes' Spring Bouquet stamp set. I die cut the sentiment with Spellbinders French Frills set and sponged it very lightly, also with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. I embellished the label altering anoth…
