Everyday Miracles with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps - Soft & Delicate Butterfly Card -

I was recently honored with a wonderful invitation by Korin Sutherland from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps to join their design team, not only as a stamp designer but also as a card designer. I feel like this was an opportunity that for one reason or another had been delayed and so it is so very fulfilling to finally be able to be part of this company.

Main Supplies:
Stamps - Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps: Everyday MiraclesFloral Pattern Background
Die Cuts - Spellbinders: A2 Matting Basics A, Majestic Labels 25, Victoria Border Strip
Papers - Laser jet smooth white cardstock, pink leather textured cardstock, heavyweight vellum
Tools - Evolution Advanced die cutting machine / Canon MG2220 Printer / heat tool
Inks - Colorbox Antique Pewter and Wild Hare / Ranger Distress Embossing Ink
Adhesives - Therm O Web: Foam Squares, Zots, Mixed Media Glue, 1/2" Easy Tear Tape
Other - Cuttlebug Damask Decor embossing folder / 7/8" pink grossgrain ribbon / SU rhinestones / Colorbox Winterfrost glitter / Colorbox Clear embossing powder

Today's card is what is usually called a hybrid card; The background was hand stamped while the sentiment and butterfly were digitally stamped. I was able to match colors incredibly well (to my own surprise) considering the ombre background was actually made using pigment inks. This beautiful image and sentiment are from the classic Everyday Miracles stamp set available in both digital and clear stamp format. The Floral Pattern Background is one of my designs released by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

The ombre background opened the way for all the other soft elements on this card: A dry embossed mat and a patterned Victorian border framing the sentiment and a layered butterfly image with a hint of sparkle.

The butterfly's shimmer is actually created with some DIY iridescent embossing powder I made, mixing one part of Clear embossing powder with two parts of Winter Frost glitter, both by ColorBox. I printed it on pink cardstock and then on vellum to soften the sparkle and create dimension.

This soft and delicate butterfly card is the first of a series of inspiration projects. I invite you to follow along since there will be more creativity and surprises to share soon. Do take a minute if you can to visit Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and see their large collection of clear stamps including the ones I've designed (here).

Thanks for stopping by.
