It's a Blogiversary Party!

I am so happy to have a chance to celebrate, together with my teammates, Hiding in my Craft Room's blog anniversary! There will be lots of fun challenges and giveaways throughout the entire day today. These challenges will last all week long to give you time to play along.

To start the party we have the all time favorite Super Scraps Saturday. A month wouldn't be complete without a Super Scraps challenge!

The giveaway is a
$12 Gift Certificate to the store!

I had the opportunity to use one of their lovely images called Spring Branch, which I loved to color!

I colored this digi with Spectrum Noir markers from various sets (Yellows, Reds, Greens, Browns). I used the out of the box technique, one that I enjoy to use with this kind of floral images. I die cut the labels with Spellbinders Classic Labels Four and Spellbinders Gold Labels Four. The white label was stenciled with Distress Ink in Peeled Paint and heat embossed with a sentiment from Flourishes' Flowers for Jan stamp set in gold. I added a central panel layering leather textured cardstock in orange (also dried embossed) over patterned paper from Shery K. Designs. It was all adhered to a leather textured cardstock card base in white. Amazingly almost all was made from scraps!

Don't miss a chance to play along and win some crafty goodies this week! I can't wait to see what you'll create. I will be back in an hour with a second project for HIMCR's Blogiversary, so stay tuned!

Thanks for your visit. See you in a bit.

  1. Like the colors, dies, layers on your card. The HIMCR #3 & #2 challenges indicate they do not start until 8/16 which is really the end date & there's no linky for them.

Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card. Really with card designing the hard part is figuring out what you want your card to look like in the end but once you have figured out what elements you'll be adding and where you will be placing them the card comes together pretty fast.
