Shabby Chic Gift Tag - Dies R Us

It is incredible how fast this year is going by, don't you think? A new month begins, and as every first of the month it's time for another Dies R Us Challenge: Gift Tags. Of course our main rule is that you use die cuts on your project. In fact, I tried to add as many as possible to my shabby chic tag! I have been doing so much lately, I was happy to finally get a bit of time for myself to sit on my desk and make my tag. I was instantly inspired... I needed the break badly!

Dies used:
Spellbinders - Nestabilities - Labels Twenty-Five
Spellbinders - Borderabilities - A2 Scalloped Borders Two
**NEW**Spellbinders - D-Lites - Fancy Label Tags One
Spellbinders - D-Lites - Fantastic Flourish 3
Spellbinders Donna Salazar Collection - Rose Creations
Spellbinders Donna Salazar Collection - Carnation Creations
Impression Obsession - Birds
Cas-ual Fridays Casual Vine Fri-dies

To make my tag I die cut two labels, one from pink cardstock and another one from floral patterned paper (see here). The patterned label was also cut with a Borderabilities die, and was then mounted on top of the pink label. I love how the the patterned layer looks against the pink.

I added a piece of pink ribbon approximately across the middle of the tag, vertically, hiding the ends behind the patterned piece. I adhered a flourish corner, some vines die cut from green cardstock, old handwriting patterned paper (see here) and craft metal I painted with silver acrylic paint. I also attached some birds, I die cut twice and mounted to create a decoupage effect. I continued embellishing my tag with some small flowers and a little tag on which I stamped "with love" from Avery Elle Simply Tags stamp set.

To finish the design I added some crystals, applied a bit of silver acrylic paint here and there to add detail, and tied a piece of pink ribbon on the top. I love how this tag looks! It would look lovely on a gift bag but it would also look very nice adorning the front of a card.

I hope you feel inspired to join our challenge! Remember that as always Dies R Us will give away a $10 voucher to one lucky winner! I invite you to stop by Dies R Us Challenge Blog and check out what my teammates have created... They made some gorgeous tags for you to see!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
