Black & White + 1 = HIMCR Challenge 144 and a Giveaway Party

Hi everyone. It's with great joy that I write this post today. I have wonderful news to share with you... I was chosen DT member for Hiding in My Craftroom. HIMCR, as it's also known, is a fun website where Laurie (the loveliest person ever) shares videos, offers giveaways, challenges, and much more. Currently it's had more than a million hits, and visitors keep on coming. I am so happy to be part of this design team. I'm having so much fun getting to know all of my fellow designers and I thank everyone for welcoming me so kindly.

So now let me tell you about the very first HIMCR challenge in which I feature my work as DT member. This week we are challenged to make a project in black and white plus one more color of our choice.

Our sponsor this week is Blue Moon Creation. They offer a great variety of craft supplies for today's crafter: photopolymer stamps, digital stamps, embellishments and more. To visit their store click here. Blue Moon Creation is giving away some fabulous digital stamps to the winner of this challenge.

I am lucky to be able to use one of their elegant images on my design for today: BMC-0016 Language of Love. Check it out:

Materials
Spellbinders:
- Grand Large Labels
- Grand Calibur die cutting machine
Craft Concepts embossing folder
DoCrafts Xcut Large Dies - Leafy Flourishes
Bazic:
- Double Sided Foam Mounting Tape
- Double Sided Tape
Other generic materials
7/8" gross grain ribbon in hot pink
Textured cardstock in black and white
Linen cardstock in white
Bond paper in hot pink
Vintage black button

This is a 5⅜" x 7" label shaped card I layered with a smaller coordinating hot pink label and a polka dot embossed layer in black. The image is the focus of the card and it was carefully hand cut and adhered to a black heart frame. To finish the design I added some paper flourishes, ribbon and an embellished bow.

Now it's time for you to hop along and check what my fellow designers created for the challenge.

You are more than invited to play along, just visit HidingInMyCraftRoom.com and follow our guidelines to link up your project.

I hope you liked my card... I would love to know what you think.

Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card.
