Super Scraps Saturday - HIMCR #145

Hello everyone! As all of you must know by now I'm part of Hiding in my Craft Room's DT. So every Saturday I'll be posting a project for our weekly challenge. And like every second week of the month, today it's time for Super Scraps Saturday. To play along, make a project using paper scraps only... That's right!

Our sponsor this week is My Besties!

The winner of this challenge will receive 5 digital images!

With no further ado, let me show you a card I made using a cute My Besties' image and some scraps for the challenge:

Materials
Spellbinders:
- Gold Circles One

- Small Lables
- Grand Calibur die cutting machine
Craft Concepts embossing folder - More Dots
Spectrum Noir markers - Pinks
Faber Castell watercolor pencils (brown)
Avocado Arts stamps - Who Loves You
Ranger embossing ink
Inkadinkado embossing powder in Linen White
Zap! heat tool
Barrilito heart punch
Merletto crystal stickers
Bazic double sided tape
Other generic materials
Hawaii cardstock in white
Textured cardstock in sand and mint
7/8" light pink gross grain ribbon

This is an A2 card made entirely of card stock scraps and left overs. The little owls are actually one same digital stamp I edited to look like a pair looking at each other. I colored them with markers in various shades of pink. For the branches I used watercolor pencils. To my surprise I was able to find scraps that coordinated nicely, both in color and texture. I love how well the pink and mint work together!

Now it's your turn! We would love to see what you create. To play along visit hidinginmycraftroom.com, follow our guidelines and link your project.

  3. What a cute card...love the way you manipulated the owls to be a pair of love struck birds...ingenious. I know this may sound silly, but it looks yummy to me, like Spumoni, and I love Spumoni.

Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card. Really with card designing the hard part is figuring out what you want your card to look like in the end but once you have figured out what elements you'll be adding and where you will be placing them the card comes together pretty fast.
